  1. Another bike rental outfit has left bikes on LL. HumanForest.
  2. Worth noting The Gardens has expanded their catchment area to cover most of SE22 again.
  3. I thought I could hear the music from Hornimans today, but it must have been the Skate Park event. Still wasn't loud to be distracting.
  4. I saw a P13 turning into Underhill Road this afternoon at the LL end. They were still on diversion at lunchtime.
  5. You can drive down Court Lane from Lordship Lane and drive into the other side streets, but you can't turn right into Calton Avenue or cross into the Village. What you intend to do is perfectly legal, you can also turn into Eynella Road from Lordship Lane down to the park (Court Lane Gate) as well. It's not helped by confusing traffic signs on LL itself.
  6. I've been with 306 for 8 years along with my elderly mother. They've adapted the way they treat her as she finds it difficult to handle which has been excellent. One of the GPs Dr Kolah is excellent. Reception staff are largely good as well.
  7. If it's anything like the previous "consultation" Southwark has done, it'll be railroaded through regardless of the practicalities for all users of Rye Lane.
  8. Time will tell if I use the PO to collect cash from December or go to Rye Lane to get cash from the machines inside instead, but I think the Peckham option may be the lesser of two evils in December in the run up to Christmas.
  9. The place where Lime has been allowed to leave their scooters is totally unacceptable. I also seen a Lime bike dumped on the Lordship Lane Estate on the footpath outside Bew Court. Then again Zip Cars have also been left on the estate previously.
  10. Apparently Lidl isn't just getting a lick of paint, but is moving into Poundstretcher's current shop, so they need to knock down the wall between the two stores to make it larger.
  11. The main reason for using that branch is that 9/10 I can use the machines inside and withdraw cash in the way I like it, the Post Office doesn't always have all the notes you wish to have them in.
  12. Overground services are operating from Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye every 30 mins until around 6pm.
  13. Barclays will argue that for most customers, they can still do basic banking a couple of doors down at the Post Office or use the cashpoints at the Co-op or PO, while the Peckham branch is a 5-10 min bus ride on the 37 from Goose Green.
  14. Considering Cllr Leeming has already featured in Private Eye's Rotten Boroughs for his treatment of a constituent, it shouldn't come as a surprise that his behaviour comes into question again.
  15. As part of Barclays reason for closure, they claim only 14 people use the branch as their only method of doing their banking while 93% of users who use the branch also use online or phone banking.
  16. If this is proven that Cllr Leeming allegedly mislead constituents, he should stand down and a by-election held in Dulwich Village ward.
  17. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a climate denier or anything like that. Monday and Tuesday this week is a big wake up call for action on net-zero, but I've never been convinced that closing leafy back streets is the way to reduce emissions. I walked along LL by The Grove for the last two days during evening rush hour and all I could smell were petrol emissions from cars queuing up to turn onto Dulwich Common. Cyclists love LTNs because it gives them the car-free utopia they've been campaigning for decades for and they've been getting upset over the decision of Tower Hamlets where Mayor Rahman who is far from being a Tory (he's a Corbynite socialist) who campaigned on a anti-LTN ticket won the May election promising to remove the closures and cycle lanes for car access again.
  18. They chose the wrong time in December when the Post Office a couple doors down sees their busiest time of the year with people sending presents to loved ones for Christmas. It's bad enough waiting in a Barclays queue as it is. Barclays have also seemed to have conveniently forgotten that during the pandemic, the queues for the bank would stretch down Ashbourne Grove.
  19. All London Boroughs now only have one police station, so in Southwark, it's Walworth Police Station just off Walworth Road by McDonalds.
  20. Yet again LL has had another burst water main on the same stretch of the road between Mount Adon Park and Overhill Road. How many times after Thames Water replaced the Victorian pipes has that section of road had sections closed off in the last few years? I've lost count of the disruption caused by the 'modern' pipes.
  21. I await the spin.
  22. My collection was cancelled on Monday.
  23. Southern have cancelled all trains between Caterham and London Bridge on Monday and Tuesday of next week. It appears the Beckenham Junction trains will run on those days with half hourly gaps between trains. There are also no Southern trains from Forest Hill or Honor Oak Park to London Bridge. However it appears there will be some form of an Overground service from Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park and Thameslink will operate from Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye, but not from Tulse Hill.
  24. You can do deposits at the post office. Cash without a paying in slip and cheques with.
  25. They did the same to Forest Hill, a year or so later it was closed and became a private dentist.
