Professional footballers should not be taking the reaction of fans as their inspiration for the next game. They are not that precious that they should but above criticism and I think fans have every right to express their disappointment at a sub-standard performance such as last night's. I cannot understand the idea of blind loyalty, that support of a team should be unconditional. And for the record, I have never booed my own team or left a game early, even though I have been given good cause on many occasions over the years. But I will not always applaud them off the pitch either.
