  1. Scenario: 89th minute. Uruguay are winning 1-0. France are on the attack. Ribery crosses, but it's just ahead of Henry....do you want him to palm the ball in the net and the goal be given. A hundred grand could depend on it. And the family could drink something decent...
  2. Here we go.....c'mon Mexico (double with Uruguay).

    First ever gig?

Blue Oyster Cult, Manchester Free Trade Hall. 21 November 1975. I have no defence.

  5. I'm going to add I Just Can't Stop It - The Beat to the list.

  7. OK, so far: Marquee Moon agree that Television never reached these heights again and also agree that they were superb live, saw them on the Marquee Moon tour; Signing Off thought about this but think that there were still a number of good tracks on Present Arms; Horses soooo iconic album but both Radio Ethiopa and Easter are great albums. Wave was the start of the decline, but really enjoyed Trampin' (2004) except the title track; 12 Stops From Home should really be in the guilty pleasures thread, a delightful pop album. I also agree with Is This It and Up The Bracket but will disagree with The Killers - Sam's Town is a fine album. Will distract myself later going through my collection....
  8. Drummer - Topper Headon. In Westway To The World, the rest of the The Clash gave the credit for the band being able to adapt to a number of styles down to Topper's ability. Vocalist has to be Robert Plant - surely rock'n'roll is all about excess.

  10. *cliche alert* There are no easy games at this level. So agree it will be tough but England to win 2-0.
  11. The Look Of Love - ABC
  12. More Than A Feeling - Boston
  13. No More Heroes - The Stranglers
  14. Can I Be Your Hero? - Wreckless Eric
  15. Hey There Lonely Girl - The Chi-Lites
  16. David Cassidy - Betty And The Werewolves
  17. Heads it's funnier, tales it's not.
  18. Wide Eyed And Legless - Andy Fairweather Low

  20. Whole Of The Moon - The Waterboys
  21. Everyone's Gone To The Moon - Jonathan King
  22. Space Monkey - Patti Smith Group
  23. Not that I wish to cause trouble for the poster in question but the original poster of the 'b' word in this thread sidles of scot free.
  24. Or their tendency to play an early (ahem - long) ball for Agbonlahor and/or Carew, rendering Young/Downing presence as a threat superfluous for large parts of the game. Now playing narrower since departure of Barry, when they preferred five across the park, with Young/Milner out wide. Some dubious signings in Harewood, Heskey, Sidwell, and Beye and his man management has isolated Reo-Coker.
  25. At least he made it as far as training. David James missed training blaming the 11 hour flight for a knee problem. Still, wouldn't be England without a few scare stories.
