The question of which condiment with the bacon sanger has been raised.

Always the correct form when addressing the porker who died for your breakfast is HP. If for some reason the house has sat with no HP then Heinz tomato ketchup on the right hand slice of bread and a decent slather of Colman's English mustard on the left is acceptable.

If you're fortunate enough to have had access to the 99p shop in Brixton and now have a supply of Branston's gherkin relish (alas no Bix's cucumber relish, but there we are), then on summer morning when a person is feeling frivolous, it's just the job.

4 rashers of extra-virgin pork, triple cured on a bed of oak-smoked whiskey barrels

2 slices homemade spelt brioche, gently coaxed from a hand-greased tin

Three san marzano tomatoes, dried under an Italian sun then pulped with an ostentatious pestle and mortar.

    • Charity shops have really good board books, especially St Christopher's
    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
