Although I think the talent has known for a while and is already off (Jon Richardson a particular case in point for me)

It's been coming this decision but still hacks me off - for the price of Moyle's lunch, a whole station playing the stuff that people normally had to wait until 8pm for

bah humbug

I know there's been talk but foolishly hoped it wouldnt happen.

Didn't I hear him last Sunday morning? Or is he due to disappear? Was odd hearing him on fighting talk on 5live

This station costs around 6 mill a year from what I understand... doesnt Wossy leaving cover that and then some?

Moyles ... urgh!

although it did have George Lamb. It wasn't perfect by any means

But it was(is) still head and shoulders above any other music station. If I could listen to the likes of Guy Garvey, Tom Robinson, Mark Radcliffe somewhere else I would so so - but I can't so the once thing the BBC does well (and cheaply) is now gone

I'd be interested to know if the daytime music policy is as it always was and not been dumbed down- for want of a better phrase. I know that there are a few ex- Radio 1 DJs on the station. I only ever tend to listen in the evenings or on a sunday, and that is as it always has been.

Radio 1 always had a handful of decent shows- but generally at indecent times.

I catch the end of Steve Lamacq sometimes before Mark Riley's show, and he still thinks he's doing the evening session from Radio 1- it's devoid of anything remotely interesting. But, if it means the station survives long-term then so be it.

I find that if you don't listen before 7pm, except on Sundays, then you can't go wrong. Although, i've always had a weakness for Lauren Laverne, but have never really listened to her show.

I find that listening to Marc Riley, Tom Robinson, Gideon Coe, Tom Ravenscroft, Stuart Maconie's Freakzone, Cerys Matthews, Jarvis Cocker (is he still on?), Huey Morgan (most of the time), Craig Charles, Iggy (but I think he's gone now) is guaranteed to enhance your life.

    • The eyesore is left, right and elsewhere of said box.😉
    • I don't think you are miserable; the fireworks 'thing' seems to be growing. It used to be that you knew when they would likely happen and they were relatively rare, two or three times a year, for just one evening each time. Now, not only do there seem to be more and more large organised events, with extremely loud fireworks, even making Halloween a must do fireworks date- but people just seem to randomly let off four or five really loud ones at odd times of the night, for around 6 months of the year. Given the environmental impact, I'd have thought the council might want to encourage use of low noise fireworks at large events. I really, really hope something can be done.
    • Would this not be a complaint better aimed at the council? Isn't it an anti social behaviour issue?  I think of myself as pretty live-and-let-live and feel like a miserable cow for saying this, but I do think I might complain. Personally I love the sound of fireworks but our dog is under the table, shaking like a leaf night after night and collapses in the street when he hears the noise.  I'm worried his heart'll give out.
    • The lower / no bang noise fireworks sound great.    Is there anywhere local selling those?
