giggirl, Southwark Council were funding free cycling lessons a while back (they may still)...check them out...before the dosh runs out. Otherwise...just buy a bike and teach yourself...I did... at the grand old age of about 30! Or take up PGC's offer. There's nothing to it. Good Luck xxx

To play the piano like the guy in B Bumble and the Stingers 'Nut Rocker',


and the banjo as good as the weird geezer in 'Deliverance'....


Having a twenty eight inch waist and 6' 3" tall.


Seeing the Northern lights.


Experiencing a glockenspectre.


Discovering a pair of Peregrine falcons nesting in the garden.


Being fluent in Mandarin, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Arabic and Glaswegian.


Knowing and understanding the complete works of Shakespear.


Receiving something good from a brown envelope.


Spending an evening with Peter Ustinov, Charles Dickens and Ho Chi Min.


Find a soul mate whilst I can still do it.

Ruffers, my apologies, I too didn't see the bit about tickets in your post...did you add it as an edit? only I haven't had a chance to go back until now...but thanks very much for that.


And sandperson, equally to you...thanks very much for the link.


Last night I received a real surprise of a PM from another lovely forumite (Mr. X) who "knows a man who can get tickets"...there are no guarantees...but he is going to try for me - which is really kind. My fingers are crossed. But if his efforts lead to nothing, then I shall definitely try both your links. So MASSIVE thanks to all three of you. I am so so excited, it's unbelievable.

Apologies for completely going off the deep end this morning. Myself and the end of my tether have long since parted company, but that was no excuse to call anyone names. I just find that it's impossible to write anything with any degree of thought or sincerity on the forum these days, mired as it is in the puerile and snide.


As for my subsequent post, again, apologies. I should have said something at the time rather than just editing my original post, but HAL, your ebay sleuthing last week made me deeply deeply uncomfortable. BBW was roundly slated for similar facebook behaviour and I found it really creepy.

      Just read this on South London News… yuk, yuk, yuk… Constant change of staff who don’t wear gloves when touching cheese. Assuming lease is from Dulwich Estate, do they not vet their prospective tenants? Mice infested.. fined by Croydon Council… guess they can afford it.. Luky no one got sick or maybe they did….

      Aria replaced our stopcock valve as it started leaking over the weekend. Came to do the work on a Sunday, very responsive to messages and efficient work - explained what he was doing and what went wrong. Highly recommend!

      Brilliant emergency weekend service from Aria from AFE Plumbing to replace our stopcock valve as it started leaking heavily on Saturday. He explained everything clearly and completed the job efficiently. Kind and well-mannered, would highly recommend!

      Hello everyone, We have lost our wonderful moggie, Cookie.  She's been missing for over a week now and was lost around the back of our house on rail track land around Croxted Road/Turney Road junction. Please do keep an eye out for her and if you see her please let us know urgently as she isn't familiar with the area at all, we are very worried.  She has a microchip (with my brother's contact details) She's black with ginger/brown markings, very distinctive.
