I care not for gritty. In my reality, MrBen, you stride through glistening airports, Blackberry buzzing discreetly in the hiddden pocket of your Richard James suit.

The chief concierge at the Cataract Hotel, Aswan, keeps a felucca waiting for you at all times on the private jetty.

Pretty embassy liaison officers mention your name wistfully during the coffee breaks of inter-departmental briefings.

If you end up stopping over near LA at all, then you should stay in Venice Beach. We stayed at this fab little boutique place called Bayside Hotel a few years ago during our West Coast trip, and the rooms are right on the beach- so gorgeous. When we went to reception to check in we were greeted by two surfer blokes that spoke like they were straight out of Bill and Ted. Like totally excellent dude! http://www.baysidehotel.com/GuestQuarters_ie.htm

    • These have reduced over the years, are "perfect" lives Round Robins being replaced by "perfect" lives Instagram posts where we see all year round how people portray their perfect lives ?    The point of this thread is that for the last few years, due to issues at the mail offices, we had delays to post over Christmas. Not really been flagged as an issue this year but I am still betting on the odd card, posted well before Christmas, arriving late January.
