Jeremy
Had some pork chops from Asda once... absolutely horrible. Watery, bland, nasty texture. Will never buy meat there again. Penguin68
Iceland... I stand by my opinion that they specialise in revolting, nasty, processed rubbishI agree that their prepared foods were never to my taste - but as you also note 'and do sell some actual proper food too' their e.g. frozen unprocessed foods (and the other branded goods they sold) were entirely acceptable, good value and consistent quality. Dulwich Born And Bred
I'm not into ready meals at all , I buy fresh from Ocado/Waitrose plus Fruit/Vegs Box schemes .Co-Op to me is rank . I don't like any of their food from the fresh produces to the packaged stuff . I've always wondered how they stay in business but as they are the 'main' supermarket on the Lane most of us end up in Co-Op regardless .I have popped in M&S twice , and I have found the food to be really tasty which was a pleasant surprise . I'd happily pay more to eat their products if it's a choice between them or Co-Op. It's a great stop gap for me inbetween my Ocado deliveries .If only Waitrose would buy out Co-Op....... Toffee
FFS stop this thread. The co-op is the co-op, M&S is M&S. Shop in one or the other or go to an alternate supermarket. Why do you all think anyone cares where you shop, what you buy, what your having for supper? Geez! Toffee
Could you please explain your post ???. I assume you have done a recent search on me, ie the minute I posted, and found a post from me re dog grooming. How utterly childish. ????
Telling people what they should and shouldn't comment is what then Toffee? - it's a forum, if you don't want to talk about it don't get on the thread but stop telling other people what to do maybe. 85volga
So pleased M&S has opened a great new addition to the Lane. Regarding the childish spats going on ...................Yawn...... am I missing the point ?The Lane is thriving and its a wonderful area to live.Apologies to the normal EDF pessimists for being so positive and upbeat Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/103748-ms-on-lordship-lane/page/8/#findComment-1042009 Share on other sites
Toffee
For goodness sake, get a grip. Please stop being so nasty to me. I merely voiced an opinion, that's what a forum is about. I truly hope that I dont come across as being nasty or vindictive. If I do, I would like to apologise to everyone. Sometimes its good to have a good old fashioned banter. We all need, including me, especially me, not to take things personally. I just want to join conversations/debates. Please everyone, lets be civil to each other. Life is too short not be. numbers
Jeremy if brown sauce is your thing, M&S do a black IPA version which is bloody excellent. In fact their own brand range of condiments is varied and interesting. I've tried (and liked)smoked ketchup & (posh)hotdog relish.PS If ever a thread needed Sean this is it! Louisa
I popped in again today. It isn't as good as the Beckenham store on reflection. Staff not quite as clued up (yet) and stock levels low. Also, the range isn't anywhere near as good. Disappointing freezer section too and no deli counter. But then, Beckenham is naturally posh, and ED is, well.. I don't have to spell it out. It's ok. Nothing spectacular though. Some good wines.A lidl to replace co-op would be the ideal situation now. We don't need bloody Waitrose AND M&S. This is a dump that's been given a makeover, it's not Chelsea FFS.Louisa. Louisa
On the topic of trolling, isn't it interesting that horses for courses doesn't apply when certain members wish to play the 'do as I say, not as I do' card.
