Tell me about it.

6 months on JSA is pretty crippling. And if you live at home.... forget getting any extra help.

If only I could speak fluent French! Sacrebleu!

Oh for fuck?s sake! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8094515.stm

What?s the point of going to a festival if you, ?Don't drink too much? don't take drugs, drink plenty of water, wear sun screen when hot and keep your feet dry??

And now you can?t crowd surf because apparently, ?Joanna Squires, aged 30, from Essex, was knocked over and sustained bruising to her head??

Balls.

Does this cunt actually expect us to buy this?

Or could have perhaps been entitled, Man in charge of excuses thinks you are an idiot.

Apparently it's illegal to be in possession of a 16 year old boy from Norwood.

This Is Local London

Also arrested were a 25-year-old financial insurance broker from Sheffield who was cautioned for possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis and a 16-year-old boy from West Norwood.

Journalist from Southwark Life perhaps?

Loving current issue of New Scientist.

Willing to think that 'Falling out of love with Market Myths' and 'Are you a Believer' about climate change denial and subjective dissonance even among 'beleievers' won't be bedtime Reading for our own dear (and respected) Marmora* Man.

*yaaaayyy iPhone no longer insists on marmots

That's not all Ted - I found out that the Bossanova setting on a Yamaha P43ICY organ uses 10 times more power than the Rock setting.. so... you know what to do

Has anyone seen that freaky Daily Mail front page from yesterday I think where, apparently, people who have a patio are going to have the jackboot of the state repeatedly stamped in their face?

or something

that was my favourite line too annaj

Just remember peasants - just because you work 10 hours behind a beeping till in Sainsbury's and then possibly a cleaning job at night to make ends meet, that's NOTHING compared to the hell of the middle classes who had to read a story like this yesterday. possibly sitting on their patio. In the sun. Eating freshly baked croissants, gourmet coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice...

Us middle-classes - our life is unbearable I tell you

    • We can't use our kitchen for a while and so looking for an air fryer to plug the gap. Please let me know if you have a good one in working order.  07702 305 310 Thanks
    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
