Haha, what *Bob* said. I've said it before and I'll say it again, many of the men in ED are punching well above their weight. Perhaps you just get a better class of beer gut round here (organic micro-brewery beer gut..?)

Hey, nothing wrong with a decent gut, lady. Shows character and a certain epicurean panache. 'Sides, round these parts, its more likely to be a latte gut.

It was a riposte to the old 'are there any single(hot)men thread' that was up some time ago. Still, nice to know there have been reported sightings of the aforementioned unattatched totty. Time to whittle myself a divining rod and venture forth...east dulwich food and wine you say?

It worked for the onion and the cat, can't see why it wouldn't work for Bon3yard.

Ladies, he is good in the kitchen. Go on, as impetuous said, give him a tinkle.

Bon3yard I can't believe you've resorted to touting yourself on the EDF.

What can I tell you? If this doesnt work I might have to resort to stripping naked, sellotaping fivers to various bits of my anatomy and parading up and down Lordship Lane on a Saturday night bellowing out Je taime at the top of my lungs.

Only fivers? Don't undersell yourself! ;)

Forget fivers - take pies!

Let me know when you plan on doing it.

Forget pies - take shoes!

PS. Fivers??!! They seem quite rare these days so.....no, shoes it is. Or handbags. Oh, and pies then.

Maybe...

But I reckon you're more likely to find someone when you least expect it...in my very humble opinion.

I concur, but sometimes you have to force the issue...or at least give it a rolling start.

    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.
    • I like the look of SD's Sweet and Sour chicken. It's a really good dish when made freshly and well. I'll need to try it. Sad that Oriental Star and Lucky House by Dulwich Library both closed at a similarish time. They were decent, reliable, "British Chinese" takeaways.
    • William S Spicer was a family-owned firm that initially made horse drawn delivery carts for breweries (especially Fullers Brewery in W London) and horse-drawn trams. With the advent of the internal combustion engine, they successfully made the transition to coachbuilding delivery vehicles London's leading department stores using German engines. WW2 interrupted their business for obvious reasons, and their postwar attempt to become the local assembler and distributor of Bulgarian "Izmama" trucks was not blessed with good fortune. In 1953, the company pivoted to being a full-service garage, leveraging their reputation for honesty and excellence.  In 1972, the Dulwich site was sold to its present owners. William S Spicer III (the grandson of the founder) retired to Lancashire, where he founded a sanctuary for the endangered ineptia beetle, which he had encountered in Bulgaria while travelling for business. In 1978, Spicer was awarded an OBE for conservation, and a newly-discovered  beetle was named after him by the Bulgarian People's National Academy of Sciences - Byturus Spicerius.
    • I'm glad all this talk of cheese has enticed David Peckham back to the forum.
