The problem is the alternative: the gym. Often the one near work. Where your boss also works out.

It's that whole ugly prospect that got me into cycling to work instead. No danger of being quizzed on Q3 results while towelling off in front of board members in various stages of undress. *shudder*

I don't believe I said that exercise was bad for you, I said that running on concrete or tarmac, and taking in toxic fumes whilst breathing heavily as a result of vigorous exercise isn't good for the body. I didn't say exercise in general was bad for you. Both Jah and I expressed opinions contrary to others posted on here and got exactly the kind of response I should have expected

Get your arse out of your house and ask them instead of posting scornful crap on an internet forum?

Sadly the last time I accosted a scantily clad person in the street, I spent some time at Her Majesty's pleasure.

And at that time of day I'm usually found enjoying a tincture of laudanum and a cheroot on the verandah.

May I recommend it Mr. Healey, it takes the sting out of an early start

    • While enjoying the nostalgia and memories, finding the implication that no such thing exists now a bit odd - we get ours through Milk and More (is part of big co, so there is that against it) - returnable glass bottles of milk, orange juice, yoghurt, and much more besides (as per the name). And yes it comes in the middle of the night in an electric vehicle.
    • This sounds like what goes on at Tessa Jowell GP surgery as well as others.   If you can flag yourself up as a ‘vulnerable’ patient or one that can’t use Apps for whatever reason etc then you can usually make appts by phone. They would have to make allowances. Quote the Equality Act 2010,  reasonable adjustments section.
    • Its part of a change all Doctor surgery's are undergoing.  The goverment want to stop the 8am scramble for an appointment, and its not just restricted to the Gardens. Sadly, it does impact some who are not digitally savy.
    • There was quite an old clip on BBC4 recently where they were introducing yoghurt to the British public. They called it a 'Balkan Dairy Preparation', which sounded to me more like something you'd ask to speak to the male member of staff about in the chemist in those days.
