Oops! Didn't mean it mischievously. For once...

Can I put my hand up and admit to being totally hypocritical on the gentrification subject? i.e. I always rant on about the bl**dy Claphamites etc. but equally would never be seen dead in one of the old men's boozers that used to dominate Lordship Lane. And I get excited at the idea of posh new shops and bars despite myself.

There, I've said it. I feel so much better!

They are advertising for waiting staff in the window of a new coffee shop currently being kitted out on Lordship Lane.

I was tempted to apply to get the undercover scoop, but couldn't be bothered. I did peek inside though. It looked exactly like .... a new coffee shop. Must be very near to opening now.

    • I don't think you'd be a busybody, gently telling them that you'd noticed that they put their rubbish in bags and the collection team can refuse to empty the bin for this reason. If you have a good enough relationship where you can ask to put your rubbish in their bin, surely you can mention that you had noticed?
    • You don't want to hopefully politely explain not to use a black bag in the recycling for fear of seeming a busybody yet are quite happy to snoop inside their bin? 😂🤣😂
    • I wish the guide mentioned that recycling should be loose inside the blue bin. My next door neighbour bags it in a black bin bag and id feel like too much of a busybody to tell them that’s not right.    (I know as I put some extra recycling in their bin once, and have checked a few times since to see if it was a one off)
    • Great value and surprised neither went.  Maybe time of year when people aren't feeling very active. Or perhaps people are too posh round here nowadays to buy second hand, even when 'as new'.
