I seem to recall some considerable unease amongst Bojangles parents about the motivations and ethos of the church when Bojangles nursery closed down. Those considering putting their children's names down may want to try finding that thread. Sorry am too inept to link it to this post.

Sure and firm really does seem a rather weird name for a nursery, or indeed a foundation nursery and pre-school.

As someone with absolutely no religious background I'm just wondering is it some kind of quote from the bible, as in "the way of the Lord is sure and firm" or something?

Just a thought.

Agree it sounds scary, have image of them all sitting on hard wooden chairs in silence and eating gruel for lunch!

Holy hell! The bible is full of the sacrificial slaughter of goats and lambs and peppered by the occasional stoning. I hate to think of it being used as a childcare manual! They will be smashing the crockery if a staff member comes to work during menstruation!
  • 2 weeks later...
as one of the parents who was shafted by the whole bojangles debacle, i have to say id rather jack in work than send my kids to a nursery run by that church. they were unpleasnt and unreasonable throughout the whole episode, were completely obstructive and above all showed no consideration for the affected kids. no doubt bojangles were culpable but it was within the church's gift to ease the pain by extending the lease at least while they found new premises instead of implementing a really aggressive policy of standing by the door and telling people the nursery would shut down within two weeks. horrible people.
