Judie
I have a couple of french friends coming to London first week of August. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant as it is a birthday celebration too (I know Le Chardon is good) but it doesnt have to be french, many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/115235-any-recommendations-for-a-nice-restaurant-in-the-area/ Share on other sites
MissDumpling
Plenty to choose from, but if you don't mind sharing small plates, I'd take them to either Miss Tapas (can't book, so have to get there early) or Pedler (book now!). http://www.misstapas.com/http://www.pedlerpeckhamrye.com/Alternatively, Platform 1 has a great track record in bringing exciting chefs to the Lane - so have a look at their current offering (they have guest chefs for a few weeks or months at a time) http://platform1.london/French House is fun and good value, but they might not want French fare...http://thefrenchhouse.co/home/index.html Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/115235-any-recommendations-for-a-nice-restaurant-in-the-area/#findComment-1025014 Share on other sites

Townleygreen
Joannas in Westow Hill, CP is great, thick table cloths, yummy food and good waiters Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/115235-any-recommendations-for-a-nice-restaurant-in-the-area/#findComment-1025053 Share on other sites
Jeremy
Pedler is good, I really like it. The upstairs restaurant at John The Unicorn is fantastic too... another "small plates" type offering (not pub grub at all). Also, Camberwell Arms or Crooked Well over the hill are both safe bets. edcam
In ED, it's hard to beat ToastED. In Peckham, Pedler and in Camberwell, The Crooked Well. But sloooow service, and always find it very loud (bad acoustics? Or excitable diners?)
