And you need one? If you are gay i.e. homosexual why have an evening that excludes others? I'm new to this forum but I don't understand the need to exclude people from anything. I could suggest an evening of drinks for left handed ginger haired people with a twitch in their right eye and at least one wooden leg. But why would I do that? I don't know. As it's a 'gay' event then presumably it's because you want to meet other gays with the prospect of a relationship. Don't mean to be harsh but i don't get it. There must be gay forums i presume.

Declan, No-one is excluded with the obvious exception of homophobes! and only then because I'm sure most peoples idea of a pleasant evening having drinks with new friends wouldn't include trying to either defend themselves or swap pleasantries with a bigot.

Having a common interest isn't monopolised by gays when organising such events, single parents (Gingerbread), women (WI), men (lads night out) etc. None of which are generally intended for meeting prospective partners (within the group), that's not saying it couldn't happen.

I'll be going to have a laugh with a lesbian friend and my ever so heterosexual faghag, both of whom I've no intention of having a relationship with other than as friends (and bloody good ones at that).

Yes there are 'gay forums', but does that mean that gays should be restricted to those or that EDF should be for straights only ? Come along, have a laugh and if you can find a left handed ginger haired person with a twitch in their right eye and at least one wooden leg, bring them too. :)-D

    • There  is a dance fit class at Harris girls on a Monday evening 630 pm which I have been going to for years . It is an inclusive class  with a wide range of ages.    The  teacher is Fi and she is amazing and  the classes are lots of fun.   look on the web justdanceuk .com. There are other dance classes  (flowetic )that Fi and the lovely Lizzie runs  at Harris girls too . They also have an event next week which is a bit further- near Penge  which is a day of dance to include  just dance fit, dancehall, line dancing, garage fit and flowetic . Which is also available to book on that website  ( look at the events section) .
    • that’s just been misused first by Faraz and then Starmer. It’s evocative and negative.  But it’s flooding the news today.
    • I didn't realise that either! I thought it just meant division within communities - religious, racial or otherwise.  Yes, it is frightening. The days of the broad church political party are over.
    • So I've done a little more research into the current use of the word, I hadn't realised it had latterly been used to describe anti Muslim feelings. Still don't like the use of the word. These are horrible times and am fearful for the future.
