Of course you do Olivia, I beg you, keep it as a token.

Oh what a lovely, lovely afternoon - thank you so much for arranging Lady Katharina Van Der Wotsit. Especially pleased to catch up with Big Bad Wolf again - nice sun tan: clearly the outdoor life agrees with you. Nice to see the two dogs: Woof and Timothy Henrique Hallal (the latter who licked me to bits, gave me a good run for my money, attempted to eat my posh crackers, and stuck his bum in the olives). Sorry for making you cry Andreas - hope you can forgive me - I can be a little scary at times. As for those two gorgeous little devils who fed the crows my expensive organic farmhouse vintage cheddar (LOL) you gave me a good run for my money too - you were too fast for me this this time. But I'll beat you next time. Ted Max, was that really you? Your visit was short and sweet but we appreciated your parting gift to us very much. We won't forget that in a hurry.

Daizie, Quids (accompanied by one of his own cute sprogs as well as one of Boris Johnson's), Katie1997 and CitizenED, it was lovely to see you all again. And OliviaDee, HonaloochieB, and *Bob* it was a real pleasure to meet you.

Drank, ate, talked, and ran far too much.

But hey, what a great day!

Did dear Timmy take off with one of my espadrilles btw?

I had to walk up Barry Road in my high-heeled clogs, not easy you'll understand with all those picnic bags and a half-eaten rosemary sourdough loaf under my arm.

OMG sweetie - the (new) clogs were cream!

*goes off to check clogs for damage*

i would be honoured *********. Though i did press it for you under my pillow.

(edited for discretion - used a real name when i really shouldn't have)

Lovely afternoon and great to meet everyone. Sorry for eating lots of your food KT and LM and drinking your wine. In my defence I would say that me and the little one had got there on time and had eated our picnic by the time you late starters arrived. Nuff said. And dear LM you make me sign an official gagging order not to tell about that incident and then you blab it out on here the very next day. What are you like! Still, your secret is safe with me. Sorry never got the chance to chat OD, catch up next time perhaps?

Citizen great to meet you and your family, the game of football earlier was fun

Shouldn't have worn those shoes tho lol

There's still so much food left, crackers and olives all week I think :)

the park is fab, glad we have this nearby. Here's to the next one!

PS. I think you'd left by the other (even later!) ones turned up. No name tags tho, d'ya mean that may not have been the real *bob*? ;)

Ahem! Do you not know who I am? And that other grand dame too - Lady Katharina Van Der Wotsit? Ladies of repute - that's who!!! Imaginary guests indeed! You left early - do you not recall? The unexpected guests arrived shortly after your departure and stayed till almost 9.00pm. Had you stayed longer you too would have met them. You cheeky man! LOL!

*gives CitizenED hard "imaginary" slap*

    • Nice to see the property is going to reopen with a Newish business, good luck to them.
    • Of course they do, watching cookery shows and buying cook books is a national pastime. However you raise a good point that some people claim they are time poor and end up eating out / takeaways as sometimes a quick macciedee is cheaper and easier than making a quick nutrious family meal.  However to put it in balance, not many people have the knowledge, confidence and time to cook Persian so good luck to team persepolis on this venture.
    • London doesn’t have a lot of Argentinian places specialising in empanadas, which suggests demand isn’t that great. There are many neighbourhoods with none at all or even nearby.  So for a mini-chain like Chango (several branches in SW London) to open here where there’s already a well established family run place doing the same feels a bit off.  I’ll be giving Chacarero my ongoing custom.
    • This is so helpful, everyone, thank you. @green bean Yes we have just (as of yesterday) installed the same external blinds you mention! We already had blackout blinds and we now have the external awnings too. Of course that will guarantee the end of the summer sunshine but I can see that they're going to be helpful as they let the light through but not the glare of the sun - I'm fed up of working in darkness with both the blackout blinds closed on sunny days. We'll see how we go with those for a bit but I reckon we'll get a couple of quotes from the other recommendations in case we end up going the whole hog. @penfold Love the idea of getting solar+batteries to offset the electricity usage so will look into that.  Thanks, all.
