Nigello
I really miss Homemade as well. I hear that SM will be another Italian from the same owners.(If only the oringial Homemade gang could come back. Their food and tea/coffee were great and it was a really pleasant place to be...) DuncanW
Wasn't there always a a conneection between Si Mangia and Lorenzos? I'm sure when SM first opened they marketed themselves as being a 'sister' restaurant of Lorenzos...? Penguin68
I have always enjoyed the CP Lorenzo's (they did a great lunch-time deal as I recall) - I haven't had a bad experience at Si Mangia - they were always to my mind a very old style Italian (like we had in the 70s) - none the worse for that as they delivered what they promised - but I probably prefer the more modern (regional) take on Italian food. But the staff were excellent and welcoming. Let's hope the new ED Lorenzo's can match its CP parent. Whatalotoffoss
So sad to see Si Mangia is changing ownership. I do like Lorenzos but we have had a family tradition of celebration meals at Si Mangia over the years and will miss the staff and the warm welcome we have always received there. Thank you all if you read this! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/118954-si-mangia-closed/#findComment-1037524 Share on other sites
