Indeed, the main issue was that he had a few years left on those wages, so I guess it was a case of feel the pain now.

I always thought he was an excellent committed player, but he was a very inadvisable buy for us at a ridiculous wage.

Still best of luck to the fella, not that he needs it.

Indeed he does look fantastic in those pants! The photo is framed and on the wall in my downstairs loo!

Not at all Seany, she's quite fit - however this is a footy thread, so we might ask you to do it elsewhere. ;-)

Oh boo :( Do you want to borrow my travel card? I'm not using it at the moment.

I also have a camelback rucksack*, so you could fill the bladder with beer and not have to spend any cash at all. :)

*I know so many people who have smuggled booze into gigs using these. ;-)

This is why I am never getting married.

Unlucky Pompey - probably a good job you didn't spend any money Ratty.

Interesting that the ref "missed" Tevez raising his hands, although as much as I hate to say it the better team did win.

This RESPECT thing will be interesting too - I see a lot of yellow cards in August and September and then I think it will gradually fizzle out.

    • Many thanks Jenijenjen, we had just come to tell people and see you are ahead of us! Thanks for that and we look forward to posting more Dulwich History. We also have a lot of info on our website here: https://www.dulwichsociety.com/local-history
    • Beigel is a Yiddish word which has been translated to bagel - beigel (specifically in Brick Lane) are traditional, denser, and chewier jewish style bread rings, often boiled and baked in wood-fired oven.  bagel is lighter, sweeter Americanised version   in my house you’ll get beigels!  Honest is a much better restaurant than Gourmet. Quality of the produce is higher quality.
    • The original post was made by someone else, not the person whose post I was replying to! And the original post only mentioned Whateley Road (which has been clear of leaves whenever I have walked down it) and another unspecified road. My question was directed at CPR Dave, who (as was clear in the post I quoted)  said "The streets round here are a disgrace".
