Think he should drop either Gerrard or Lampard. He doesn't seem scared of upsetting a big name, so think he should just do it. Obviously I'm a Gerrard fan, but to be fair, I'd pick Lampard on current form, and swap them if I needed a change.

Hleb not playing which is good.

Smashing goal. Shame he missed the sitter.

Like the fella in the pub behind me said. He can only score 'em from 40 yards out. ;-)

A few injuries for LFC though I hear. :-( Torres out for up to 10 days and Babel picked up a knock too. STOOPID international breaks.....

With regards Torres, this hamstring thing does bother me. He's had past problems with it, and the hamstring once it's gone once, seems to come back to haunt players again and again. We need that boy fit, I'm scared he'll pull up one day and miss half a season. Hopefully not, but I hope the club don't feel they need to rush him back.
Oh! Anna...I was exceedingly pissed last night. It all started with a liquid lunch down at Le Chardon, followed by snifters at the Clockhouse, The Drum and the finally the CPT by which time I was completely arseholed as you may have noticed. I hope I behaved myself. I don't really remember much about the match but I had fun though. I remember that much.

Cheers, I might do that as I've not watched a game in there for a long time.

Also, I am quite gutted about Torres I was just trying to kid myself that it wouldn't be a problem. It didn't work.

I feel quite uncomfortable about Rafa joining the whole "there are too many international games" club. Basically, if his hamstring was going to go, it would have gone anyway, as he would have no doubt been playing for his club instead of his country. If there are too many games, it's too many stupid group matches in Europe in my opinion.

I am a Liverpool fan, but I love international football (NOT FRIENDLIES), and I still like to think that the players strive towards playing for their countries.

Sad to see he's definitely going to miss the Chelsea match, but we have good players.

Presumably all you Liverpool fans have seen this - youtube vid of a punter doing surprisingly good impressions. Was on the Guardian's YouTube thing yesterday. Gerrard, Owen and Crouch are the best for my money.

    • You literally just edited your earlier reply to remove the point you made about it being “politicians”.  Then you call me pathetic.    I’m  not trying to say you approve any of the ugly right wing nonsense.  But I AM Saying your earlier post suggesting  violent rhetoric being “left wing” was one-sided and incorrect
    • I never said that. Saying I don’t like some of the rhetoric coming from the left doesn’t mean I approve of Farage et al saying that Afghans being brought here to protect their lives and thank them for their service means there is an incalculable threat to women.    Anything to score a cheap point. It’s pretty pathetic.
    • To be fair we are as hosed as the majority of other countries post-Covid. The problem is Labour promised way too much and leant in on the we need change and we will deliver it and it was clear to anyone with a modicum of sense that no change was going to happen quickly and actually taking the reigns may have been a massive poison- chalice. As Labour are finding to their cost - there are no easy answers.  A wealth tax seems straightforward but look how Labour have U-turned on elements of non-dom - why? Because the super rich started leaving the country in their droves and whilst we all may want them to pay more tax they already pay a big chunk already and the government saw there was a problem.
    • You don’t think there are right-wing politicians fanning this with rhetoric? Really?
