Well that was f**king sh!t!!!! And my head really really hurts today. Should have stayed at work til 5 and then gone home and had a nice dinner!

I've never been a big fan of McClaren, but I don't think it's fair to blame him, the team were playing way too deep, and I don't think that was because of his instruction.

Robinson needs to be put down, and Rooney is a stupid little oik, I don't care if he did score the goal.

Gerrard didn't do a lot either, other than miss a great chance to put us 2-0 up.

McBullshitter. He is to blame with his 'I can ask no more of the lads' mutterings. Yes he f@cking can, concentrate on the game and win against inferior teams. McEricsson said he couldn't comment on the match overall as he'd have to review it's ebb and flow. What is he going on about?, is there some mystical sub-strata of analysis he can apply to watching football? That would probably be the insight he had into getting hammered 7-0 by Arsenal (when manager of Middlesbore) but still suggesting there were positives to be had. Doh!

Also, Robinson's too cordial, Gerrard has a ?5 haircut, Lamps 'Lampy' Lampard is a cock, and that's it.

Until I lived in proper Gooner territory, I didn't mind Arsenal supporters at all. Spent too many nights at Finsbury Park simply trying to get home from work listening to an incessant chant of " oooh to, oooh to be, oooh to be a - gooo-ner". I just wanted to get home.....

That said, I have a lot of good mates who support them and Arsenal will never be as detested as Manure or Chelski

Fair do's though, you've had a superb start to the season. I just hope your squad is strong enough for the entire campaign B)

Lets wait til May* :)-D

*Caveat - I'm not implying we'll win the Prem either, you just never know.

I for one am not surprised that Drogba has reverted to type, by chucking all of his expensive toys out of his costly top of the range pram, and is telling his adoring public (I'm kidding) that he wants away from CSKA Fulham. And people say there's no loyalty left in football!!!

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
