ach Keef - I was only gently mocking a rival fan's hopes by paraphrasing a current hit in the pop-parade. Didn't mean to hit a nerve

I wish Bolton held on to Sammy Lee for another week - I hate playing teams the week after they lose a manager - there is always a bounce effect ....

And yeah RVP is a loss - we normally miss him most seasons through injury but he has been so central this year we shall see who steps up...

Why would you want Drogba. The man is poisonous, just think of the destabilising effect he would have on a dressing room. CSKA Fulham are welcome to the over inflated ego that is Drogba, after all he epitomises all that is CSKA Fulham. I thought all gooners would have been taught a lesson after the last monster ego left the club, namely Le Sulk. RVP is a loss, but then we all thought TH14 would be missed. I see no evidence of that thus far, in fact I think it is yet another master stroke by Le Boss to let him go & chase the mighty dollar. ( Arsene knows)

You can rely on on Jah Lush to know such things. I think Everton were harshly treated today, no wonder the normally mild mannered David Moyes called the ref a "f**king cheating twat" ( at least those were the words I lip read). I think Everton had a nailed on pen which was turned down. As usual, refs have again made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Didn't see much footy this weekend, after the Liverpool game I just got lost in a drunk haze waiting for the rugby. Remember hazy images of the Man U game, including a good Villa goal, and a penalty save from the sub keeper, but shame about the final score.

Have to hold my hands up and agree about Liverpool Everton. We were not great, and you could argue our first penalty was slightly dodgy. Everton should definitely definitely have had a penalty at the end, but they didn't, and I'm pleased about it! >:D< About time we got a bit of luck on ou side!

Yes Keef, Liverpool rode their luck on Saturday. The referee definitely had the blinkers on. Spurs could do with a bit of luck like that tonight. We're in for a busy week ahead. Away to Newcastle tonight then Getefe on Thursday in the UEFA Cup followed by Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. All of them tough games and potential banana skins for the beleaguered Martin Jol.

According to reports, David O'LearyLittleSh!t is favourite to get the Republic of Ireland job after Staunton gets sacked later today. From this I can only assume that they don't intend on improving at all.

Why would you replace one good formaer player who has failed in management with another?

AMAZING!! - First visit to the Emirates and although it felt like going to the theatre a bit rather than to a football match it was fantastic. Great set-up, great view, great football. Sixth goal was probably the best I have seen live. Not an Arsenal fan but you couldn't help but go mental when they scored.

I'm getting my predictions for the weekend in early as I may forget otherwise what with a couple of things going on...

Birmingham 1 - 1 Wigan

Chelsea 2 - 2 Man City

Man U 3 - 1 Boro

Portsmouth 2 - 0 West Ham (sorry Piers)

Reading 1 - 2 Newcastle

Sunderland 1 - 0 Fulham

Bolton 0 - 2 Villa

Derby 1 - 3 Everton (Booo)

The Pool 2 - 2 Arse (I guess I'd be happy with that, although I'll obviously be hoping the pool can pull a win out of the bag).

Spurs 1 - 2 Blackburn (Sorry Jah, hope I'm wrong on this one too, if they can get a win in Europe, it may spur them on... see what I did there).

Piers and Jah get an apology but Lady G and I don't? - harrumph ;-)

Birmingham 3 - 1 Wigan (don't care how many goals - it'll be rubbish)

Chelsea 2 - 1 Man City

Man U 3 - 1 Boro

Portsmouth 1 - 2 West Ham

Reading 1 - 2 Newcastle

Sunderland 2 - 1 Fulham

Bolton 0 - 1 Villa

Derby 1 - 3 Everton

The Pool 2 - 2 Arse (no idea on this one - reluctant to call a win lest it bite me on the ass)

Spurs 1 - 3 Blackburn

No apology needed for a draw methinks - shall I text you the score on your honeymoon Keef?!

Birmingham 2 - 0 Wigan

Chelsea 1 - 1 Man City

Man U 4 - 0 Boro

Portsmouth 2 - 1 West Ham - sorry Piers but Pompey at home are good!

Reading 1 - 3 Newcastle

Sunderland 1 - 2 Fulham

Bolton 0 - 2 Villa

Derby 1 - 2 Everton

The Pool 1 - 2 Arse - no sitting on the fence for me!

Spurs 0 - 2 Blackburn - sorry Jah - just look forward to next season now!

Birmingham 2 - 0 Wigan

Chelsea 1 - 0 Man City

Man U 2 - 0 Boro

Portsmouth 1 - 0 West Ham - no worries all, Harry has a good record against his old team

Reading 0 - 0 Newcastle

Sunderland 2 - 1 Fulham

Bolton 0 - 2 Villa

Derby 1 - 3 Everton

The Pool 0 - 1 Arse - Sorry Keef, but they're awesome at the moment. Fabregas has no peer at the moment.

Spurs 1 - 1 Blackburn - I'll sit on the fence here, Blackburn are tough opposition.

    • Rant ahead: You're not one of them but unfortunately, there's a substrate of posters here that do very little except moan and come up with weird conspiracy theories. They're immediately highly critical of just about any change, and their initial assumption is that everyone else is a total fucking contemptible idiot. For example: don't you think that the people who run the libraries will have considered the impact of timing of reconstruction on library users? (In fact, we know they have - because they've made arrangements at other libraries to attempt to mitigate the disruption). After all, these are the people that spend their whole working week thinking about libraries and dealing with library users (and the kids especially). You don't go into the library game for the chicks and fame - so it's fair to assume that librarians are committed to public service and public access to libraries, including by kids. Likewise the built environment people (engineers, architects, construction managers, project managers, construction contractors, subcontractors or whoever is on this job) are told to minimise disruption on every job they do. The thing that occurs to us as amateurs within 30 seconds of us seeing something is probably not something a full time professional hasn't thought about! Southwark Council, the NHS, TfL, Dulwich Estate, Thames Water, Openreach - they're not SPECTRE factories filled with malevolent chaosmongers trying to persecute anyone. They're mostly filled with people who understand their job and try to do their best with what they've been given - just like all of us. Nobody is perfect or immune from challenge, and that's fair enough, but why not at least start from the assumption that there's a good reason why things have been done the way they have? Any normal person would be pleased that their busy, pretty, lively local library is getting refurbished, and will have more space and facilities for kids and teens, and will be more efficient to run and warmer in winter. But no, EDT_Forumite_752 had kids who did an exam 20 years ago, and this makes them an expert on library refurbishment who can see it's all just stuff and nonsense for the green agenda and why can't it all be put off... 😡😡😡
    • I completely misread the previous post, sorry. For some reason I thought the mini cooper was also a police vehicle, DUH.
