I was listening to the commentary & Eddie Gray said that in the first half it was the best he'd seen Leeds play this season. I reckon it will be a kick up the backside & act as a little wake up call. Keef
Was pleased with Liverpool's draw yesterday. We could have won it at the end, but they could have won it at the beginning, so fair enough. Annasfield
Didn't get to see the game yesterday as was away, I did however watch the last ten minutes just now. Shame we didn't play like that for the whole game. What was Kuyt playing at then?At least Arsenal and Manure only got a draw, no one is charging miles ahead. mockney piers
Oh, plus went to the Hamlets to watch a dreadful encounter with Walton Casuals. Perfect conditions and 9 balls out of the ground (?!?!?!?) reflects what can politely be called a 'tendency to hoof'.Past Dulwich sides have tried to play football even when they've been comedy and/or rubbish, so this was a pretty depressing display.1 - 1 btw, and here's onionbag's match review. In a nutshell, no chance. The game was as dull as ditch water, with the witless Carragher having a go at Mascherano, who is 100% better player than Carragher. I'm glad Mascherano told him where to go. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/33/#findComment-52981 Share on other sites
Keef
I really don't understand how you can say Carragher is a bad player. He may not be the best ever, but he has been an absolute rock for us in the past, and we wouldn't have gotten to the final of the champs league in 2005 without him. How many euro finals have Ferdinand or Terry played in?I will say if a player is sh!t, even if he wears the Liverpool shirt, but I don't think Carragher is. I will admit that I hated him at the beginning of his career, easpecially when he put the ball in his own net twice in one match against Man U basically giving them the win in an otherwise tight match!I can't believe how smug gooners can be, I really can't. I know we'd all gloat a bit if our teams won the league, but all the gooners I know are absolutely insufferable! I've never in my life wanted Man U to win anything until last year, I wanted them to beat Chelski because of all the fair weather Chelski fans coming out of the wood work, and I want them to beat Arsenal this year because you're such bad winners, I really can't stand it! (yes it's bugging me that much)For the record, I agree at least that Liverpool won't win the league this year. I let myself be a bit hopeful at the beginning, but there is still quality missing in some areas, and he wasted a flying start by medding with the team too much and throwing away points against sh!t teams. SeanMacGabhann
Cheers Keef! For what it's worth, I rate Carragher - I'm just not fond of his tendancy to "cuddle" players and get away with it of lateI'm perplexed at Liverpools for recently but hope they are in the mix anyway. I also was behind Man U's success last year (something I didn't think would ever happen)But don't let us Arsenal fans put you off a good team Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/33/#findComment-53018 Share on other sites

I have no interest in Manure or CSKA Fulham, and as for whether Terry or that moron Ferdinand have ever represnted their clubs in a CPL final, I couldn't care less. Blacburn v Liverpool was a rubbish game, that's all ( or is someone going to say different). And based on what I saw, I don't think Liverpool can win the League. How is that Boasting or being smug?? Some football fans are very weird!!! I'm proud of my team, as most fans are, is that also being smug and boastful?? Annasfield
I think that the thing is Atila, you are extremely quick to criticise and quote what other people are saying when doing so. I'm aware that this happens when people discuss football, however it tends to happen on talk sport and 606. I think that on the EDF we're all quite polite (mainly because we know one another ;-) ), so when someone comes in the way that you have it puts our backs up. I post quite frequently on the 606 and LFC forums and say exactly what I think, but still don't go all guns blazing. On here I'm a bit more reserved and don't reply straightaway - even when I disagree or when some thing p1sses me off. Besides, I can't wait to quote you all when United win the league (arggh! do you realise how difficult that was to type!!) and then I can revive these posts. P.S Keef I agree re' your comments about smugness. Lets wait 'til May. AND! as for Carragher...... Keef
I apologise Atila, I was having a bad morning when I wrote that. I do know more than one gooner who does become insufferable as soon as they've wona couple of games, and they've made it very hard for me to like their team, even if they mean it as a joke. However, I guess I was generalising a bit. It's a shame, because I do love the football they play, and they have some wonderful young players as opposed to oiks like Rooney.Blackburn Liverpool wasn't a great game, but I didn't think it was a boring game either, well not the second half anyway.I stick by my support of Carragher, although Sean makes a valid point. Speaking of young players, that lad (who's name escapes me) that Liverpool have loaned to Bolton for the season looked useful.Aaanyway, I'll change the subject.Interesting that Spurs new manager chose to start with Bent and Defoe, and Bent scores a lovely selfish goal... Maybe he's going to get a good chance there after all. He will play for a side that's in trouble, something that has been questioned about Berbatov... Jah Lush
I like Jamie Carragher. He's one of those players who would go through walls for his team-mates, much the same as John Terry does at Chelsea. If I can pick out one performance that summed him up and I think it's the best I've ever seen him play, it would be his performance in the European Cup Final of 2005 against AC Milan. The guy was obviously suffering from cramp and was completely knackered towards the end but still continued to hurl himself into the tackles. I thought he was fantastic that night. mockney piers
No apology to Sean there keef?As it goes I've a soft spot for Arsenal when firstly they started playing good football and secondly a friend of mine kept taking me to Highbury a few years back and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the fans were a friendly bunch happy to have a hammer in their midst (neutral games though).Smug and happy to gloat and predict world domination off the back of a couple of good results though? absobloodylutely they were, so will back you up on that keef*. Man U fans annoy me for the same reason, and chelsea fans should know better, but I'm guessing most of the insufferable ones are probably fair weather glory hunters.Incidentally I have every right to be a Real Madrid fan, but they're even worse than all of the above put together, so I keep an eye out for Atletico's results, which are as reassuringly rubbish as West Ham's ;)Anna has a point about your tone atila, which I might add has improved dramatically since you first came onto the forum, but you can still be a quick to anger. Mind you, I have (usually hungover) days like that, so I can appreciate it happens.*not all of them were of course, some know what a little humility is.
