mockney piers
That swedish chap, Sven Summinkson seems a good manager, I mean Man City flying high? Who'd a thought it. Perhaps they might like to ask him.I might put my CV in again. atila the gooner
No doubt Sam "i'm not talking to those nasty people at the BBC" Allardyce's name will be put forward again. Jah Lush
I doubt it and I sincerely hope not. What's wrong with the England management set-up is that it's the wrong way round. Venables should be in charge with McLaren underneath him.As for Steve Bruce, well he's obviously surplus to requirements at Birmingham once this takeover goes through so he might as well go somewhere where he's wanted. Jah Lush
So McLaren and the England team got lucky with the results at the weekend. But I can still see us screwing it all up by losing on Wednesday night. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory so to speak. Am I being a tad pessimistic here? mockney piers
Croatia have been rock solid at home but don't travel so well and have recently failed to beat the likes of Macedonia (yeah I wonder what that's like), Japan and Malta away. It being Wembley I think we'll do it, but am not expecting it to be anything less than shredded nerves time. atila the gooner
I can't believe that we are so happy about the fact that another country has (possibly) done us a favour. It just shows you how low we are now setting our sights/expectations. And worst of all we are now lumbered with that log of wood known as Mclaren, for the forseebale future. How cruel is fate eh??? :'( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/41/#findComment-56459 Share on other sites

atila the gooner
You know what, I bet even if we qualify we will be rubbish in the tournament. Quarter finals anyone?? Keef
Exactly right! I think we'll get there, but we don't really deserve it... Having said that, the table doesn't lie, so if we qualify then we've done better than the team in 3rd.Thing is, there are big changes needed, and no one seems brave enough to make them. The FAs answer seems to be either through money at a problem, which never works, or give the job to a "safe pair of hands" that will never improve. It's depressing, and worse of all Lampard seems to have gotten his starting place back!!! atila the gooner
Arsene Wenger has predicted England will win 2 - 0 and go top of the group. Arsene knows! atila the gooner
Keef, I love the way you feel you have to justify your prediction for the Arse game.. you obviously don't feel other teams will be affected by the internationals. Still, we'll see. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/41/#findComment-56680 Share on other sites
Keef
Of course I do, but Arsenal are at home, against a Wigan side who won't be feeling fatigue, just think they might make a match of it. I've still given you the win!Liverpool will have some tired players too, but there always seems to be goals in the Newcastle matches.Chelsea may be tired, but the simply can't lose to Derby. Jah Lush
I hope so. Most of the games look good for entertainment value. The Arse and Man Ure are scoring for fun at the moment and not letting much in and as you say yourself Newcastle v Liverpool is generally a high scoring game and West Ham v Spurs could be similar as both defences are bit suspect but I think we have that little bit extra firepower up front. Roll on MOTD at the weekend as I'll probably be watching England V Croatia from behind the sofa.
