I can't stand Blackburn because of an experience my son and I had when we played them in the FA cup semi final in Cardiff a couple of years back. THey kicked all of our players all over the pitch, Todd gave Van Persie a fore arm smash to the face and got away with it, but we won 3 - 0!! To make matters worse, my son and I were walking around Cardiff city centre after the game and walked past a pub with around 50 to 60 Blackburn fans sitting outside who, very bravely I thought, starting to hurl abuse at my son and I. I told my son to keep walking. He was 14 at the time but is big, as in tall, for his age. He turned on his heels and walked back to what seemed to be the leader of the abuse hurlers and began to defend both my and his honour. No fists were thrown but the guy was clearly shaken by my sons bravery/foolhardiness. I rushed after my son and confronted the braveheart that was standing nose to nose with my son, and advised him that I thought he was a hero for standing up to so mighty and adversary (well, you can make your own minds up about what was actually said). I told the guy to grow up and get back to which ever cave he crawled out of, which didn't go down to well and he offered all sorts of threats. We saw this guy again at a service station on the motorway home when our coach pulled in for refresments. He was strangley quiet when confronted by 40 gooners without the backing of his troop of merry men. Nothing happened but I did allow myself a wry smile as he sheepishly scuttled off to his car. What goes around.....

I think my son was very foolhardy, but he felt he was defending his old dads honour, bless him.

Well...He's one of that evil bastard Damien Commolli's signings and he's supposed to be one of the hottest prospects in French football. He's captain of the Under-21s but I think he has suffered from not having an experienced player like Ledley King alongside him. He has an awful lot to learn so hopefully he'll get better but at the moment he's worse than Titus Bramble.

I think I confused myself last night, but....

"Put simply, if Liverpool beat Marseille in their final group game then they will definitely go through. If they lose they will definitely go out. Complications arise should Liverpool and Marseille draw. Marseille beat Liverpool at Anfield earlier in the campaign, meaning they would edge the Reds out on the basis of that result, assuming Porto beat or draw with Besiktas in the group's other match.

But if Liverpool and Marseille draw and Besiktas pull off a shock by beating Porto, the Reds would go through. In this scenario, Liverpool, Marseille and Porto would all be on eight points. Liverpool would go through with the best goal difference in the head-to-head matches between the three teams."

Apparently.

Jesus he must be bad!!!!

At half-time at White Hart Lane last night I thought Spurs were heading for an early exit from the UEFA Cup. We were very slow out of the traps and soon two-nil down. Second half was a different kettle of fish though. Jaunde Ramos made two substitutions at half-time and 20 minutes later we were 3-2 up. Very impressive. Six games without defeat now since he took over and things are looking up. But we need to sort out our defence as we have missed Ledley King big time this season.

These are my views, for what they are worth!

    • No sweetheart. It is a fantastic sermon which should be shared. It is a rights-based sermon which received a standing ovation - if you can be bothered to get to the end.
    • Welcome back. What have voting intentions got to do with this thread? And much as you may hate the present incarnation of so-called Labour, as do I,  I don't think it is true that they have "not done a single positive thing for working class people", is it? And how exactly are you defining "working class people", anyway?
    • I can’t bear the media “is this racist comment racist” angle taken to reporting it. I feel like she’s a useful out rider for Farage to test how far they can take their rhetoric - it’s not the first time she’s said things that cross over the line. Overt racism is becoming far more commonplace and it’s deeply concerning.
    • Dear families,  I am exploring the idea of starting a casual, low cost Mandarin club for children in the area. This would be a fun,play-based introduction to the language and culture for young learners. Before I organize anything,  I wanted to see if there is any interest! If you might be interested, could you please reply to this post or PM with  1. Your child’s age.  2.What kind of format you’d prefer( A. weekly playgroup, B after-school club,  C. weekend session) Even a simple”interested!”  helps. This is just a preliminary survey.  No commitment.
