Oh god it was a terrible. I'm smarting this morning, really smarting. I can't even bring myself to read the match reports in the papers yet. What a terrible start to the season for Tottenham Hotspur. But here come the excuses. 3 left backs out, three centre-halves, a couple of wingers, or am I just whinging? I watched the game and felt quite sorry for Tony Soprano - the fans were giving him a kicking on Five Live afterwards saying he's a nice guy but a poor tactician. He certainly looked isolated on the touchline.

Injuries play their part but there was enough talent out there to do something other than whatver tactics were in play.

I listened to those idiots on Five Live bleating about Martin Jol on the way back from the game in the luxury of my mate's Lexus. Most of those people on phone-ins know f**k all about football. This is a man who has got us a top five finish in the last two seasons and a couple of good cup runs in which I think we were a little lacking in experience when it came to the business end of matters. I happen to think he is a fine coach and if given the right time and resources will eventually bring the success that the long suffering Spurs fans deserve.

I'm working late tonight, but if I do pop into the CPT for a snifter or two it won't be until about 9pm, so you never know I might catch you later.

Jol is a great manager, I like his style and his honesty. I also like the way he has that sort of Dutch stonedness about him!

No! I support Sheffield United, against whom Liverpool won three penalties last season, one farcical, one very dubious and one undisputed. It is immensely satisfying to see the boot on the other foot, so to speak. :))

Is it satisfying playing in the Championship? ;-) Soory Simon, but Warnock was on the radio the other day still slagging off Benitez, and I just think it's rubbish. If he had a team in the final of a cup, and his last league match didn't mean anything to him, he'd do what was best for his team, and think about the cup. That's all Liverpool did, and it's the same as any manager would do. Teams get relegated because they don't get enough points over 38 games, you can't blame it on one particular person.

That penalty was bollocks! But, these things happen, Torres' goal was great, so that's a positive. Plus the mancs lost which is always a good thing.
