I noticed that too ....

Not the usual cat fight type thread we normally use this section for, but that rarest of gems: an entertaining written, insightful, very detailed post. It's about the cynicism of recycling in our fair borough. (Warning: may be tl;dr for some.)

I took it as a joke - isn't it?

There are dozens of companies that do Bespoke Parties for small children.. 5th Birthdays..

..and many people use this service..

List of children?s show ideas

Children?s entertainers

Magic shows

Puppet show

Mini disco (including limbo dancing, conga, dancing competitions)

Rocket balloons

Balloon modelling

Bubble machines and snow machine

Clowns

Cannot see a problem or have I missed something..

I guess I can see why people with the money to do so would want to hire someone to arrange everything for them so they didn'[t have to make up 30 party bags, hire the bouncy castle, sort out invites and so on (can you tell my daughter's 5th is coming up?). If that's all it really is, then fair enough, it's like having a personal shopper (another thing I'll never have).

But just the use of the word bespoke makes it sound so ludicrous before you've even started.

Balloon modelling? Get real Foxy. We're talking My Little Pony..for real!

It's like stag do's. Gone are the days when you went to the Nag's Head with your mates, got leathered and ended up tied to the nearest lamp post naked. Now we have long weekends shooting wild boar in the Black Forest*

One-Upmanship is everywhere I tell ya...

*Tied naked to a pine tree whilst being whipped by a buxom Fraulein in Lederhosen...see website for additional costs

    • As much as I support the protection of wildlife from predators its incredibly important not to don a feline chum with any old collar. Collars can be a hazard to cats. They can easily get caught on things resulting in choking. If cat owners really must use a collar, consider one that is quick release or of the paper kind (yes I know they wont last long).
    • Hi She’s chipped and spayed and let out in the back garden. She hadn’t found her way to the front yet (which would have to be via other people’s back gardens) - but we’re worried she now has and has got lost.  Do your scanners pick up any microchipped cats? Thanks Emma
    • I was recommended George McMillan of  Rodemption Pest Solutions as I had a wasps nest in my roof. I just wanted to say he was very efficient, super conscientious and a very nice guy. My wasps nest is history! his number is 07977 522294
    • Hi, Is Linda spayed & microchipped? & was she let out into the road or garden? Our team carry scanners on our daily routes, so will keep an eye out for her.
