Ah-ha - are we out-ing the cloak as punishment? Splendid... I've always thought of out-ing as a serious forum crime, but a fun twist to use it as punishment for other serious crimes.

the cloak - if that is, in fact, your real name - a cursory glance at any thread on this site demonstates that keef and the above objectors basically are the forum.

Poorly thought out move, I'd say...

Polly D you are posting again! Does this means that you have settled into your new job? :)

Cloakie - have you learned your lesson now? This isnt anti-social forum. We LIKE each other, we argue and bicker but we dont slag each other off, much.

Quite, assuming that you have correctly interpreted Lozzyloz's post as anti SE5 snobbery, that is. I had hoped for a less hurtful explanation.

At least you are prepared to post honestly though rather than just ass kiss your fellow forumites.

Are you The Cloak *Bob*?

Me? The Cloak? Alas no. I would have been electronically outed by now.

You're right about the ass-kissing though. I do sometimes feel it my duty (along with a few Notable Others) to fly the flag of sarcasm, humbug and general misery amidst a sea of self-congratulatory backslapping.

Regards,

*Bob*

I would argue that "Numpty" is something of a term of endearment. Like, you're a bit silly but I like you anyway. As for "the biggest sausage", not really heard that one before, although I guess it could be like "you silly sausage" which again has slightly playful connotations.

Making out that someone works in SE5 though, that's bang out of order.

I disagree, Al. I think 'wally' also has endearing connotations. As in "ee's a bit of a wally, but ee's awright really"

However, if I were to say, for example, "ALAN DALE IS A BIT OF A PLONKER", (not that I would, of course), I think that would be slightly more derogatory.

    • I thought there was only one Dulwich Library and that is on Lordship Lane/ Court Lane. Is there another one? If so since when?
    • Don’t be intimidated. People walking dogs in the heat are either ignorant or cruel. It’s worth thinking they are ignorant.  My favoured tactic is asking if their dog wants water ( yes I carry water). I don’t care if people get offended. If they care about their dog, they’d understand. I’m also quite happy to ask the direct question, ie why are you walking you dog? Do you realise how hot the pavement is and how they will overheat? And so on
    • Had a very hot walk over there yesterday only to find a notice saying it was closed, so keen to avoid that happening again! (I'm talking about the one up the hill, by Eynella Road.)
    • As a former Pug owner I get really upset and angry when I see owners of brachycephalic breeds (all bull dog breeds, pugs etc) taking them out in hot sun..Those breeds should be walked very early in the morning and at dusk ideally or if they need a pee just pop out for a moment or two..do NOT drag the dog around panting like a fur accessory. I REALLY want to 'have a word' with the owners but when i once did that a couple of years ago (frenchie pup being dragged along panting in the heat kept trying to lie down in obvious distress) its female owner told me to f-off and mind my own buisness so now I avoid the aggro.
