KatyLou
We are hoping to complete on our flat sale and house purchase next month. I have had mixed responses to this question so thought i'd pose it here...Are we required to fill in any holes left by our pictures/shelves and repaint the walls when we leave our current home? I would not expect our vendor to do this in the place we are buying but have been told to do it by some friends and a removal man who came to give us a quote. Other friends have said don't bother. Confused. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/122799-advice-moving-house-dos-and-donts/ Share on other sites
DirtyBox
No you are not unless you make a huge hole but things like picture hooks are fine. Most I have ever done is give it a bit of a cursory clean but given most people will clean it when the they move in even this probably isn't necessary. Jules-and-Boo
It's not necessary, but it would be nice. You could spend all day fixing minor things. Let the new owners do it - they'll likely redecorate anyway - it's all part of the pleasure of moving in to a new home. EPB
Much more important to make sure that there's a working bulb in every light fitting, and loo paper in every loo. Mellors
I've always left by buyer a bottle of prosecco in the fridge, with a good luck post it note - I find it can smooth over any minor annoyances at the end of a hectic moving day :D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/122799-advice-moving-house-dos-and-donts/#findComment-1047441 Share on other sites
