Oh dear, I'm repeating myself - but nothing new there.

Prediction about the Harris Academy:

Within five years of opening:

The selection criteria will exclude most working class boys. Very few of the pupils will be from North of Peckham Road/Peckham High Street. Many parents will be those who can't afford, or won't pay, the fees for Alleyns or Dulwich College. The property prices in the East Dulwich Bermuda Triangle will double. The school will be renamed "Honor Oak".

Ha Ha - nice one. Perhaps you should email the creator of the site, and let he or she know that forum is spelled 'FORUM' and not "FOURM". It doesn't create the right first impression on a home page.

Whether you embrace the culture or not you will be one of many Londoners pushing up the house prices and making the area unaffordable for locals!

Interesting that your view is that all incomers fall within the generalisations you state, wonder whether the Devon locals will be less discriminatory than yourself ;-)

That sure does sound familar ClareC... hehe

Muttley I do hope you're not related to the notorious pirate who accidently wrecked a ship returning with goods from Ireland, which contained his duaghter. The pirate, so distressed by what he had done, recovered his daughter, and laid her to rest in a small room in Chambercombe Manor with a rose put across her chest. The room was bricked away and not dicsovered for nearly 200 years..

    • That is almost too ridiculous to answer but I'll take the bait. You are comparing a national charity with one branch of a small charity. Cats Protection has around 34 dedicated rehoming centres. CHAT has two, Lewisham & Canning Town and a sanctuary in Sussex. So if Cats Protection have homed 34,000 cats, thats an average of 1000 per branch. From memory this years total so far for Lewisham CHAT was over 980. I saw a few homed this weekend so we may well reach 1000 for this year. The same as Cats Protection. No need for head scratching.
    • Actually, if it was factory fitted then it's location would be documented. It's the fact that it can be fitted in different places which means that it's difficult for thieves to locate.
    • OK, good suggestion and it appears that the after-market price is about £260. But if that that was fitted ex-factory then the cost would be substantially less and certainly a small fraction of the price of a high-end car.
