East Dulwich Train Station - seating

Has anyone noticed how it seems that on Platform 1 (London Bridge bound) of the East Dulwich train station they seem to have replaced the seating (excellent) but have forgotten to replace the ones other than under the covered area (not excellent). This results in about 5 less benches in connection with an upgrade of others. Can this really be true?

I think they've taken them away to be re-painted or replaced that's all. The ones at the end of the platform weren't there either this morning. Station manager barry jones wouldn't just remove them without a plan.

I think sophiesofa is right, I'm pretty sure the ones at the end of the platform were there on Saturday.

Sophia is right, I wouldnt do that......I would not leave you without seating, they have been removed in preperation for the new ones being put in place, in total 12 new benches, plus the new additional shelter which is now on order

It's taking almost 3 weeks now to get those bloody seats done. What happens if it rains tomorrow?

A little confused by the posting on a couple of points, the original shelters are still there so you wouldn't get wet, the additional one is on order so that would not make a difference due to the fact you have never had it and the 12 new benches are in place. I have been to ED to start checking the works and noticed they are all there

The works will be finished this weekend, the contractors are slightly behind as they need to switch off the power to finish the trackside graffiti and white edges to platforms and only have a small window to complete these works

Well. It was ruddy well raining a few days back and the shelter was taped off, due to the seats still being worked on. Which gave me the flu/cold (it didn't really, but could of)

Yeh, it would be better if they never bothered trying to improve the station, it's so inconvenient - not to mention a risk to health - while they're doing it :))
