This is a posting for some work that Doug did a couple of weeks ago, in putting up some shelves in an alcove for me (just a bit slow to get this post done!)

Really pleased to have had Doug do this work, well worth the wait to coordinate a date. Doug was friendly, polite, efficient and has done a great job with these shelves that are made from salvage scaffold boards (so needed sanding, cutting and prepping before being put up)

Great price, and will be having Doug back for some more work soon, 07748151682

Just another recommendation for Doug Hathaway, who has installed a run of wardrobes for us in our master bedroom.

Top quality workmanship and the wardrobes look great.

Agree with the previous poster as well that Doug is friendly and polite - a pleasure to deal with.

We've just had a huge set of wardrobes designed and made by Doug Hathaway @ Hathaway Carpentry and I can't recommend him enough! Doug is brilliant - very detailed in the information he gives you regarding the design process and how to make the most of the space, and also how to tackle and electrical or outer wall issues before he arrives.

We had 3 huge floor to ceiling wardrobes installed to a bespoke design and Doug created and fitted it all perfectly. Most of the work is done in his workshop pre-installation which keeps any mess down to a minimum.

Highly considerate and I shall be recommending him to all of my friends.

Many thanks Doug!

Another recommendation for Doug Hathaway https://hathawayscarpentry.com/ Doug built two high quality finish birch plywood fitted wardrobes for us at the end of 2017. We were kept informed of options as the job progressed, and he put up with my mind-changing on a few of the details with good humour!

Another recommendation for Doug Hathaway/Hathaways Carpentry M: 07748 151 682 - he just removed our old dado rails and re-did our skirtings in our hallway, modernising them and giving them a much cleaner minimalist appearance (getting rid of odd shapes and cut-outs around cupboards etc) - super efficient, super neat and tidy. Thank you.

Hi, I would also recommend Doug Hathaway / Hathaways Carpentry. Doug made a built-in wardrobe for us, matching it perfectly to an existing one, which he improved. He also did a built-in desk and shelves to make an office area. Both jobs were completed to really good level and to schedule! Doug was very reliable and responsive and provided the right level of advice and a good steer as to what would look good and what not.

    • Yes they do, but that is not the core tenet of representative democracy. At that level, we are voting for a parliamentary representative, irregardless of whether parties exist or not. It's why candidates can stand as independents.
    • Sadly I think you will never convince people like this. They think gardens have to be kept chopped back and controlled. My theory is that this comes from being (or trying to be) controlling in every aspect of their lives, so I doubt if anything you could say or show them would have any effect. But are they actually coming into your garden or leaning over into it and pulling up/damaging things? If so, maybe one of our community police people could have a word with them?
    • Dear Nature lovers - advice please. I am being harassed by a neighbour who doesn't like my standard of gardening which she calls 'messy'. (I have rewilded my garden with advice from the London Wildlife Trust and a gardening expert from The Times.) I have twice caught this neighbour and her husband pulling up my plants and damaging my trees. Plus she has photographed my house, and sent a dozen complaints to the Dulwich Estate about my plan to rewild the verge outside my property - approved by the Estate some 4 years ago in line with their stated policy of supporting biodiversity in and around Dulwich. What can I do to introduce these neighbours  to the benefits to us all of returning a portion of our gardens to nature?
