waynetta
Apparently one of the miners is a love cheat and his wife is going to dump him when he is rescued! Ted Max
They have food, water, and medicines. They have contact with the outside world - they can talk with their families and they know that rescue efforts are underway. There are doctors and psychological experts on the surface trying to make their conditions as tolerable as possible, and trying to establish a routine for the miners. They're encased in miles of rock. Above them rock ascending to an indifferent sky; below them rock descending to a molten, angry, core. Their hearts yearn for the soft warm breath of their lovers. They sing lullabies to children that cannot hear. They beat themselves raw to the porn their rescuers have so thoughtfully provided. It's not a bad life. waynetta
Well...I suppose I could do this one, as there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that it will happen to them down there. If being pursued by a rogue Rhinoceros, run in a straight line directly away from the animal. Just before he catches you, dart quickly to one side or the other. Unable to stop or change direction, the bulky animal's momentum will carry him a good distance away, enabling you to run up a tree and call for help. I wrote that through my tears and it's dedicated to those poor men. ruffers
Apparently getting them to work clearing the rocks from the bottom of the newly dug shaft is good for them psychologically, they feel involved rather than just completely passive.
