sophiesofa
I agree it's definitely the knowing people have been in your home and the sentimental items that are taken that's the worst. I think I've only seen my dad cry twice, and one of which was when he was telling me how the burglars had stolen the cufflinks his mum had bought him for his 21st birthday. God now I'm getting a bit teary too. Utter scumbags Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13038-burgled/page/2/#findComment-357316 Share on other sites

I wish I'd realised at the time that they could have helped with security, so anyone who is offered victim support do take it. waynetta
Yes I'd take up the offer of victim support as well. I hope these guys get caught. And if they are caught I hope the OP is prepared to go to court and help to secure a conviction. Quite often people either can't be bothered or are maybe frightened to go through this process. This then can then end up with the burglar getting a slap on the wrist in the form of a caution. james84
Certainly would be happy to go to court over this. Just hope that they catch them. Unfortunatley every day that goes past the actual chanced of them doing it get smaller. waynetta
I did go to Victim support and they kindly offered me this advice: Homeowners: Put an Egyptian type curse on all of your property. Then, if you are burgled and the Police don't catch the culprit, you can rest assured they will die of a plague of boils or something.
