I need to get to bond street/marylebone so am either going to walk to the first stop of the number 12 in the hope I can get on one this time without waiting 40 mins watching many 176's drive right past my stop or change trains at LB and walk from charing cross. On the plus side though I got to leave 1 1/2 hours early today because of the strike.

There, I said it?


They love a good moan about the loony left in the weeks leading up (in between complaining about how THEIR managers don?t understand the job and can?t believe X isn?t being replaced)


Then they love detailing just how they managed to use their map/app/brain to get all the way from Victoria to fekkin Picadilly


There is more self-congratulation going on than there will be at the next Tory conference

Though, I'm trying to work out how to get from my bathroom to the kitchen


Is there an overground/bus/app for that


( don't say bike as the stairs are a bit tricky )

It's not like it used to be in the old days though... I remember when the tubes AND the trains went on strike, must've been late 89 or 90. I lived in East Ham at the time, right by the start of the 15 bus stop. Was the only place you could get on it! They caused true mayhem back then...


Don't think there is anyone missing from our office today (though Mr Twirly reports major absenteeism in north London), although some people did have a bit of a walk to get in.

A nightmare? A fucking nightmare! To quote my old dad, they don't bloody know they're born. There are quite a few problems in this society could be resolved quite simply by moaning whingers just developing a fucking backbone and shutting the fuck up.


Ha, I've turned into Louisa. But really...


Shane Meadows on the telly and a Chinese on the way - that's something to look forward to then, eh?

And didn't they turn all the central London parks into car parks and actually encourage everyone to drive in? Don't see them doing that these days...

I found the whole experience quite enjoyable... no need to rush anywhere coz there was no point... took me two hours to get to work which was great as I'm getting to the exciting bits in my book. Getting home wasn't too bad either - there was the usual kind of idiot blocking up the road causing more congestion but nothing out of the norm. :)

I dont see what all the fuss was about.

      I’ve tried to find details of surgeries being held before but not found any. The section of the Southwark website that details councillors’ surgeries says that: Your locally elected Councillors will be holding a roving surgery programme in the Dulwich Hill area to enable residents to raise any local issues. Residents will be notified by letter in advance of the date, time and specific streets/roads where the surgery will take place.  Surgeries are not held in August, on Bank Holidays, Easter or in Christmas Week.  Dulwich Hill Ward Councillors I’ve never seen any notification of surgeries being held, including on the DH councillors’ social media accounts. I don’t know if any other residents of Dulwich Hill have? Neighbouring wards all seem to have times and places posted for surgeries.

      I wouldn't feel too bad about that. It's one of the few degree areas that you can do a BA or a BSc in, so it's a fairly wide-ranging and complex subject. Certainly Truss, Kwasi and Reeves seem to struggle with it.

      I can't access the article - what's the gist?  I took the markets getting jittery when she was crying at PMQs to be a sign that they trusted her. But maybe it was because they were simply worried about any form of instability.  The NIC hikes have stymied the economy, which we could all see a mile off. Will a wealth tax improve things? Does anyone here think the trickle down has any impact and that chasing out the super rich will help things? Or are we just seeing off the biggest contributors to the economy? And has the Kwasi approach ever worked anywhere else?  Economics is not my strong point at all, I'd love to know others' opinions, but it seems to be she has few options, especially as the party is so divided.

      does either of them have a surgery? probably not over summer, but I thought they had to give the opportunity for their constituents to meet them.
