Tomorrow morning is soooo very much on!

Do you want an easy peasy session for Easter, the same as normal, or a little bit more demanding?

And bring..... 2 x 1/2 litre bottles of water for the upper body toning.

We certainly did not take it easy this morning. We brought back walking lunges and got down om the grass for some sit-ups led by a lovely newbie - I think her name was Amanda?

And for those of us who stayed for a drink afterwards, I have checked and yes there are sharks in the Med!

G'day Mel C!

Theres me thinking you would just do 30-mins and then head for a coffee - looks like you guys had an SAS workout....Good Job!

Sharks in the med, Hammer heads they be. They are aggessive little buggers and are responsible for alot of attacks in Auz. Worst locations are by river entrances and early morning or early evening. We were at the same location last year in Sharm el Shark, Egypt, when the lady was killed, infact, we were there 2-weeks earlier.

When I did the 4Km open sea swim last year in Auz, there were loads of attacks albeit not at my event.

Enjoy!

I have been meaning to attend for a year and finally got down there yesterday. Had a great time. So glad I dragged my lazy bones out of bed! Need to make sure I do it regularly now tho!

Glad you liked the crunches MelC and yes, my name is Amanda, surprised you remembembered!

G'day all!

Looking forward to the morning... poor Siousxiesue, hope you are feeling better soon. Mel C, look at you, a life in the Country.

And finally..... Amanda, if you can make it tomorrow, then I will be sizing you up for your fitness tops - these are FREE issue and still have a small supply left. Just need to do 2-sessions then collect on the third! Unless, I have some in the motorbike in the morning.

McCabe.

G'day guys!

Looking forward to the morning session and the large latte at the end.

Please put Thursday 2nd June in your diary, E'Dulwich Tavern for 8pm. Meet up for a beer and to plan an event!

HI Everyone,

I have been looking at this thread for a while. Can I still join in at this stage?

Also is this the group that you can bring children to aswell?

I have never been good at running or jogging but would love to learn so I'm thinking doing it in a group would be a great idea.

What days are the classes on?

G'day,

Powerwalking, jogging, a bit of both is fine with this group as I lead from the back. Children are welcome with their parents too, as we have 7-stops on the circuit - each section is c.500m. For the faster ones, they use the session as speed play for developing.

Pop onto the website, fill in the health form and email it back. Its FREE and based around stretched and CV that you ordinarily know.......simple! Then we finish at the end with a coffee.

Best,

McCabe

Yes,

Beaut at the mo, just ordered a curry and will consume with friends in the garden.

OMG, I think Sat sessions is the best day of the week; exercise, stretching, toning, CV, chatting, and of course...... the latt? at the end!

See you and the team in the morning!

Anyone new to this thread, this is the most easiest going fitness group in London!

    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
    • I'd quit this thread, let those who just want to slag Labour off have their own thread.  Your views on the economy are worth debating.  I'm just stunned how there wasn't this level of noise with the last government.  I could try to get some dirt on Badenoch but she is pointless  Whilst I am not a fan of the Daily Mirror at least there is some respite from Labour bashing. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/grenfell-hillsborough-families-make-powerful-36175862 https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/nigel-farage-facing-parliamentary-investigation-36188612
    • That is a bit cake and eat it tho, isn’t it?    At what point do we stop respecting other people’s opinions and beliefs  because history shows us we sometimes simply have no other choice  you are holding some comfort blanket that allows you to believe we are all equal and all valid and we can simply voice different options - without that ever  impacting on the real world  Were the racists we fought in previous generations different? Were their beliefs patronised by the elites of the time? Or do we learn lessons and avoid mistakes of the past?   racists/bigots having “just as much to say” is both true and yet, a thing we have learnt from the past. The lesson was not “ooh let’s hear them out. They sound interesting and valid and as worthy of an audience as people who hold the opposite opinion”
