The East Dulwich feel.

East Dulwich can feel nothing as it is only a place it has no feeling.

Is this meant to be ;

? How does a resident of East Dulwich feel ??

The normal way that most feel is between the forefinger an thumb.

Or testing the temperature in a babies bath with the elbow.

There was a case of a feeling in North Cross Road that happened one late evening in a parked car posted

here some months ago between a couple. What that feeling was can only be described by the onlooker.

There is the soft touch wearing woollen gloves.

Then there is using the heavy hand.

Or even the cold hand or sweaty hand.

You might get touched for a couple of bob.

But none of these are a feeling.

Those who suffer in an accident feel real pain.

I am told that there is a crowded train feeling, where a cry goes out ? Who Did that ?.

When the nearest male passenger gets a slap.

There was the back row of the cinema feel with the seated man in the dark auditorium kept nodding,

the usherette said why are you nodding, he replied that his girl friend was also holding his tie.

How do you feel?

Ooh East Dulwich is lovely. Have been renting here for a year and absolutely love it although moving soon as buying our first home in Ealing! (better commute to work and all that)

We will miss ED and always think of it fondly! Lucas coffee, scoop.ed ice creams, dulwich park, saturday market, cheese block .... will miss you dearly.

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
