pop9770
It does make me angry here we are buying our Christmas food & what are the supermarkets doing to help us with the several hundred pound shop? Fook all ... Would be good to give a few youngsters some pre Christmas work bagging up at the checkout.Maybe it's down to the employment laws?Really Crap imho Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/135869-sainsburys-etc-no-staff-to-bag-up-at-checkout-v-poor-effort-imho/ Share on other sites
Sue
Vote with your feet.I don't use Sainsbury's any more unless I absolutely have to.Had very poor customer service regarding a delivery, and have taken my online custom elsewhere and most of my offline as well. JohnL
I don't pay until I'm fully bagged :) so surely it's in their own interest. There were some children helping out last year IIRC Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/135869-sainsburys-etc-no-staff-to-bag-up-at-checkout-v-poor-effort-imho/#findComment-1085703 Share on other sites
titch juicy
I presume this is trolling thread. If not, bag up yourselves for goodness sake. Or get one of your household staff to do it for you. Sue
If you are by yourself with a lot of shopping, as you probably would be at this time of year, it is very difficult indeed to "bag up yourself" while you are still taking items out of your trolley and putting them on the belt. And making sure you are ready to pay but haven't put your card or cash or purse somewhere where it could get nicked while you are dealing with the shopping. It is a massive help if there are staff available to help with packing. Jules-and-Boo
Try asking for help. Say you've got a bad wrist or something = they'll get someone to pack for you as they want you out of the way. Whatever you do - just be nice - the staff must be under a lot of pressure this time of year.Well...unless you go to a nice shop and then they'll actually want to help.I like Waitrose in Canary Wharf on Sunday as it's pretty empty. Otta
Jesus wept, have a word with yourself. You're paying for their food, not their service. Bag your own stuff, either at the counter, or chuck it back in the trolly and bag it up after playing. DulwichFox
I prefer to bag my own stuff.. Then I put the heavy stuff at the bottom (Potatoes) and the light stuff on top (Bread) I separate toiletries from food stuff. Keeping all frozen stuff together to help keep it frozen.. If you let the packers do it.. It all gets mixed up.. *Interesting article on BBC on (Rip-off Britain..) Nigello
US supermarkets used to have baggers but not many of them do now, at least in big cities. I can see that it would help things move along more quickly (resulting in happier staff and customers and perhaps higher turnover) so the idea of having your goods bagged would be welcome to me, especially in the age of "remove item from baggage area". Otta
If they had "baggers" there would only be a thread on here about how badly they bagged someone's shopping.
