monica
At the dulwich Community council meeting tonight someone asked if Foxtons have applied for planning permsiion for the frontage.I remember it was brick previously.Do they need planning permission for that type of frontage? DiscoDex
Yes, they have got planning for this. They've had this for over 2 years and were just waiting for right time to move into area. I got shown the plans over 2 years ago. Trust this assists. macroban
Now, when does planning permission expire? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1405-foxtons-windowsdoes-it-have-planning-permission/#findComment-38092 Share on other sites
Marmora Man
What's the problem? Is it Foxtons or the glass? Two points:1. DD states Foxtons have planning permission.2. An expanse of glass with views of a tidy and calm interior (that's what their sites look like elsewhere) is a huge improvement on the brick and concrete monstrosity that was there before. SeanMacGabhann
I can only endorse Marmora Man's viewFoxton's themselves have been discussed to death on here and I'm not especially chuffed. But I can hardly believe anyone would want to retain that old building in any shape or form. The Foxtons on Essex Rd for example is a pretty sleek number Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1405-foxtons-windowsdoes-it-have-planning-permission/#findComment-38104 Share on other sites
*Bob*
I have a hunch that Foxtons Inc would probably have applied for the correct permissions before spending tens and tens (and tens) of thousands on the work. So perhaps it time to live with it instead of desperately hoping they've infringed some minor article in the small print. Just pretend they make organic jam in there rather than selling houses. A large spectacular glass-fronted organic jam shop. James
At least it's not a spectacular glass-fronted baby clothes boutique. Quaywe
It's a big site - just think of how many ED prams will fit in there! peckhamasbestos
How can this shop front be anything other than a vast material improvement on what was there before? downsouth
It is. But everytime I walk past I am stunned at the scale and brashness of it all. And I don't have an issue about Foxtons at all - they're all crap. I have an issue about yet another estate agent.
