Pretty much all areas a bit away LL more interesting than the pizza/curry/burger offerings of the uninsipired high rent middle class dormitory. Food exploration bro - its not taking the missus out to Franklins once a year. *coughs*

For a really interesting and slightly 'geo-topical' food experience, try New Malden

Korean Butcher BBQ places, and a lots more. Also the best food I've ever bought from a 'station snack bar' by far.

It's South Korean, not the less explored/poison wealding North.

Tho when I see a Pyongyang street food trader at Kerb, I'll know we've hit peak appropriation.

And Wilko! Best shop ever.

It's an odd place is Wiko's

I've been in this one and the Bromley branch

Both odd

Oddly compelling to shop there

hang on, hang on just a minute there?!! can it really be true?!

Penge has also got a taproom in the local brewery (Southeys). Open Fridays and Saturdays.

Oh and the Alex pub is reopening in a couple of weeks or so, with craft beer and a restaurant.

It needs less takeaways and more restaurants but even that has improved a tad with Chez Yves (French) and Serbet (Turkish) opening in the last few months.

    • If I was on a table of two accused of eating thirty poppadoms (with pickles and chutneys) on top of curries and sides, I think I'd be inclined to say 'Yep, that was us' and ask the waiter to write off the entire bill. That is a truly heroic feat and should be recognised as such, even if you didn't actually do it.

    • I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership.    for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers
