I can't believe that pubs show football. What a load of tedious w@nk.

Horses for courses Jah. It wouldn't be top of my list of Saturday pub treats, but god knows, I've sat through some bloody boring football in the pub in my time. S'why god invented the newspaper, innit?

As Rosie is pointing out, some of these posts belong on a ?why I don?t like X factor? thread rather than someone innocently looking for a pub that shows it. (I?ve made the same mistake on the apprentice thread)

So if you don?t like it but want to beeatch about it start your own thread ya bullies (and after what they have done to ?Heroes? I?ll join you)

Not in this country it ain't.

Actually Jah, I don't think he is.

We do already have event TV in this country, it's just that it's communal only in the sense that it's tweeted and facebooked and watercoolered about, rather than watched all together.

That doesn't mean that a pub shouldn't encourage the watching together. Broken down, something like X Factor makes good group TV, because you have performances and scores, it encourages conversation, rather than something like Corrie, that it's a bit pointless to talk over.

I like what the Victoria is doing.

The pub does often show Eurovision, but that is a bit different IMO.

Next people will want Corrie & Stenders on in the pub, and that is just plain fecking wrong. Pubs used to be places where real men went in order to avoid the shite that the missus watched on the box!

Oh, and drinking wine with food is a good thing. I am all for adopting good things. This does not ean that we need to adopt silly things.

    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
    • I can also strongly recommend Lukasz after he completed some floorboard repairs and some complex repairs to skirting damaged through dog chews. He is responsive, punctual, reasonably priced, detail-oriented and his work is to a very high standard.
    • Really? Yes you are probably right as I know from personal experience with Guys… as I claiming travel costs back, that no one told me I could claim! Left hand does not know what right hand is doing regarding admin..  If they charged people for wasting overstretched staff in A& E as in not urgent just might deter people from wasting precious time…. But then you need interpreters, to explain if language is a barrier and admin staff to administer..  Correct me if I am wrong but is there not a train from Denmark Hill or East Dulwich which goes to London Bridge? Would be faster than 2 buses I would have thought.    Oh, forgot about Tessa Jowell but thought you needed GP referral in which case, that would be the place to go rather than a bigger hospital. Know there is one in Beckenham and you can call and they will give you an idea as to wait time…..same I hope at TJ…assuming they answer phone.. If one really things about it…too many  people in London for example and to few hospitals…
