Trains and other transport running this morning? [The TravelWatch in the Snow Official thread]

Recommended Posts

I saw a P13 creeping south along Underhill about 10 mins ago, just past the cemetery - no evidence of any gritting on that road - I saw a gritter at about 7.45 last evening, but it wasn't scattering much/ any grit - looked more like a slow leak than a gritting run.
My husband was just on a 176 heading south down Dog Kennel Hill. The bus started sliding down the hill, so the driver stopped and made everyone get off. Another 176 behind that one had the same thing happen. After making all the people get off, the buses continued down the hill, so he's wondering if they'll turn around and head back north. Either way, it doesn't sound promising.
No number 40 bus from the Library and no 176 (as at 6-30 am). There was a lorry stuck on Lordship lane Southbound where it starts to climb up towards the library causing chaos. I got the 185, which was diverted through peckham, and off at oval and onto the northern line. Total time to Bank 1.5 hours. Hate this - must get my motorbike fittes with stabilisers...

From BBC -

A2216 Lordship Lane East Dulwich, southbound at Townley Road

A2216 London - A2216 Lordship Lane in East Dulwich blocked southbound at the Townley Road junction, because of an accident.

Has anyone got a train from peckham rye/Denmark hill to city thameslink direction?

National rail is showing only a couple of trains and with delays... I'm pregnant so don't really want to venture out if they aren't really running... Thanks!

sheepdog - sorry ,don't quite see because mentally challenged - is 185 coming doen East Dulwich Rd and then left at Peckham Rye .

Wondering where to try and pick it up .

mrs f - if I were you (as in pregnant) I wouldn't go out today at all. The train stations are effectively shut and will be hell if they do open, but the risk of slipping on the paths is much greater

I ended up head over heels and landed flat on my back - it must have been alarming to see because a car stopped to see if I was ok.

But my other half is pregnant and apart from me saying she shouldn't walk in these conditions, her work have told her to not even try as well

But in general, if people are worried, any journey to town shouldn't take much more than an hour - walk to Camberwell and buses are running fine from there

mrs f - stay home...even if you manage to find a safe way to get to work, there's no guarantee you will be able to get home easily tonight. Don't risk it. I'm pregnant too and have opted to stay home rather than risking the possiblility of gettting stuck walking miles, slipping ang falling or getting stuck waiting ages in the cold for buses trains. Stay home with your little bean and stay warm and cozy!
I have just come back home and given up trying to get in. 197 is running but impossible to get on one at the Clockhouse on the Rye. No 63, 363 or 12 as far as I could tell. The pavement along the Rye is absolutely trecherous.
What buses I saw on LL earlier thus morning were packed to gunnels so I walked to Brixton and hopped on Tube. Was quite invigorating and I suspect quicker/warmer than hanging round the bus stop until a 185 with room came by
Hi all, I waited for a long time on LL for a bus towards Vauxhall to no avail. In the end I walked to the end of Rye Lane expecting to get a 36 or a 436 but a 185 came along randomly! Must be on diversion. There are buses running regularly from the bottom of Rye Lane with no problems but as someone mentioned above, the pavements are rather treacherous so take extra care if you go that way

    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
