The problem with the crossing will be the loss of the parking bay outside sommerfield. These cars will need to park somewhere and that will be in the sideroads in the vicinity of the supermarket. I live on Matham Grove and it is already difficult to park without additional cars unable to park outside the supermarket. Secondly I believe that crossings are designed to limit road casualties. Have there been any incidents that justify an additional crossing at this point?

The Blake mural has been painted over by the Council

isn't it great that tessa has broken off from the labour party conference to tackle the concern about a mural -
Adventure bar - East Dulwich (Lounged when no longer about same)
davidm replied to James's topic in The Lounge
went there last night. do not think will be back. do you think these people do market research? this is not for us. I felt like being in a bar in Brentwood or Chelmsford circa 1995, actually think that would prefer that to this naff hole. -

Half marathon route in East Dulwich
davidm replied to coachkelly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
am training at mo myself for marathon in october. The run i do is a loop but it's quite good as each loop is 6.5 miles . starting from goose green, then east dulwich grove, dulwich village, up college road to the top of the sydenham hill, then run down sydenham hill towards the horniman , along wood vale then down to peckham rye. its a bit better than doing loops of dulwich park but again thats good because its a 1 mile loop. hope that helps -
max as a member of your gym , and a very happy member am surprised at this move by the landlord.I agree wholehartedly that the gym is an important asset to the area . Perhaps a petition could be set up for members to sign to support you against this planning application

Why is Southwark Council so rubbish??
davidm replied to huncamunca's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
they decided to recycle our recycling bags last week. very conscientious. asked for new one still have not received -
The junction is too narrow for a mini-roundabout. The problem arises I think out of strangers to the area not seeing the no-right-turn ahead signs before Matham Grove. I wonder if East Dulwich Grove should be one-way from Lordship Lane to the Matham Grove junction? I suppose the residents of Matham Grove would hate that though.... yes we would also , the number 37 bus and any lorry or large vechile would not be able to make it down matham grove as it has a sharp left turn.

next to john alan flowers opposite the edt

yep would agree with that. that shop seems a little small for a restaurant , with kitchens etc and would there not be a change of use needed with planning?
-
its ok they have started parking in matham grove now, only 6 cars .perhaps we could suggest they could buy some rickshaws

That new gym that's opening on Lordship Lane
davidm replied to a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
we went there to have look around , they have not got sauna/steam as yet, although saying planning to in future -
is that the one at the end on the corner, number 30 I think. It was run by a housing association , the tenants moved out , and then the squatters moved in. They are still there .I believe the housing association is still trying to evict. A shame as would make lovely home.

local rail services - all stations near East Dulwich
davidm replied to Eileen's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
presumably the loss of the train line between victoria and london bridge will be as a result of the east london tube line being extended and using the current train tracks?
