pressure stairgate question

JUST WONDERING HOW THEY "ATTACH" TO THE BANISTER SIDE. OUR STAIRCASE RAILING IS ROUND IS THAT A PROBLEM?

Im afraid so. We had same issue, and my husband had to build a vertical post for the stairgate to attach to. We also had issues re height and width as the widest extending gates weren't wide enough. Anyway it ended up taking a day for a job most people do in an hour. Quite irritating but the price of beautiful staircases I reasoned....

ooooh nooooo that's not good news. new mother thank for your answer. we do have a vertical post but it's round (sorry that's what i meant by railing). i guess it's more or less the same problem... pff

We had similar problems so had to put ours all the way across the landing at top of stairs (I'm no good at describing but basically where the landing widens out, so about twice the width of stairs). You can buy extensions for our gate (lindam) and we ended up 2.5 times the normal width.

The roll out ones work too, think they are 1.3m wide. Quite expensive but very easy to fit :-)
