Saw her last night in the shop near the Canning. She looks younger in real life and she seems really nice.

I'm sure a lot of people enjoy her TV work and the fact that she has sold so many books is testament to the fact that she is providing entertainment to lots of people.

OK she doesn't like North Camberwell. It's an aquired taste and its certainly not got many amenities that appeal to middle aged wealthy white women.

Also I now think that the lipstick is part of a perfectly justifiable media persona and that the house is lovely and that the see through blinds are stylish.

And surely what looks like a guffawing dinner party from the outside is a superb evening for all those involved.

What I'm trying to say is I have been unfair and I am sorry.

Hmmm.. well, since you're pressing me on the matter..

Putting aside the genuine bonhomie, goodwill and usefulness found within these pages for a moment...

I find the jealousies, grandstanding, insecurities, bravado and self-importance exhibited here and there (from time to time) hugely entertaining and (when deserved) I enjoy piquing those that exhibit them - by whatever means are most appropriate. I thought that would have been obvious, but perhaps I overestimated you. Disappointing.

It is always done with a wink though, even if I don't add a ;-)(so that morons can still get the gist of it)

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
