The trouble with kitchen items is they eventually land up in the cupboard, like my lot.

Actually Tarot I was once given a microwave as a present and it's still going strong. I also have a sandwich maker which I use too.

Yes they work. but like most of these novelties its less hassle to use the grill and cooker.

Microwaves seem to go rusty inside.

On the third microwave so far.

Unless you are a real keen cook they will not appeal as a surprise present.

I think it depends on whether the person you are buying it foe is a woman or a man, and if you are in a relationship with them or not.

An ex-bf's mother bought me a cookery book once and I was none too pleased as i do not see myself as a chained to the kitchen sink kind of girl. Anything which reinforces gender stereotypes is not something I'd give or be be pleased to receive.
