Brendan
I have just gone past Foxton?s and the place is full of them having what looks like a party. What would one call it in a David Attenborough style documentary? David Mc
My favourite ever collective noun is an "anthology" of pros - for a group of prostitutes! Bless my friend Barry for coming up with that! Brendan
I like a Journey of Giraffes and a Parliament of Owls. Which would be more fitting? David Attenborough outside Foxton?s windows last night, dressed in jeans, t-shirt, pin-stripe jacket and thick framed glasses to blend into the scenery, giving a commentary of the events inside in his trademark hushed tones. ?And as you can see the bonding ritual is well under way. At first it looks like a random meeting with no apparent purpose or structure but after watching for a while the subtle power struggles within the group become apparent. Note how the alpha males show their seniority by displaying the size and colour of their cuff-links.?Or Steve Irwin, khakied up and popping his head out from behind the bus shelter outside the window. ?Look at that! I?ve never seen so many in one place before!? ?Now if you look there at the edge of the group leaning against the counter! That?s the most dangerous estate agent known to man! The young, ambitious, female! She a beauty isn?t she?! Pwoah! Crikey! Look at those!? ?Don?t be fooled though! Those nails are razor sharp and have been known to rip a man?s knackers clean off! I?ll wait out here until she?s more relaxed and then I?ll jump on her!? [ps. That last bit is not overused punctuation. Steve Irwin did in fact end every sentence he ever spoke with an exclamation mark.] Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1498-what-is-the-collective-noun-for-estate-agents/#findComment-41215 Share on other sites
