I like a Journey of Giraffes and a Parliament of Owls.

Which would be more fitting? David Attenborough outside Foxton?s windows last night, dressed in jeans, t-shirt, pin-stripe jacket and thick framed glasses to blend into the scenery, giving a commentary of the events inside in his trademark hushed tones.

?And as you can see the bonding ritual is well under way. At first it looks like a random meeting with no apparent purpose or structure but after watching for a while the subtle power struggles within the group become apparent. Note how the alpha males show their seniority by displaying the size and colour of their cuff-links.?

Or Steve Irwin, khakied up and popping his head out from behind the bus shelter outside the window.

?Look at that! I?ve never seen so many in one place before!?

?Now if you look there at the edge of the group leaning against the counter! That?s the most dangerous estate agent known to man! The young, ambitious, female! She a beauty isn?t she?! Pwoah! Crikey! Look at those!?

?Don?t be fooled though! Those nails are razor sharp and have been known to rip a man?s knackers clean off! I?ll wait out here until she?s more relaxed and then I?ll jump on her!?

[ps. That last bit is not overused punctuation. Steve Irwin did in fact end every sentence he ever spoke with an exclamation mark.]

    • Me too.   It has been an abundant year for apples, grapes, rosehips and hawthorn berries.
    • Jason did a brilliant job replastering my loft bedroom. It had been done badly before, but he sorted everything out and even put in new joists where they were needed. He came across a few worrying things along the way but explained them clearly, put my mind at rest, and fixed them without any drama. He turned up when he said he would, finished on time, and kept everything tidy. Really friendly, really helpful, and the room looks fantastic now. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!
    • Well if not housing with a bit of social attached, perhaps a local supermarket or a restaurant/ chain food place. Can’t think of anything else  that would for the bill unless a private dentist or even something like Tessa Jewel to serve that section. Pity that skate park might go - guys and gals put so  much work into it but have to  move with times. Community centre?  Anyone have any other ideas? Nice to explore….. Meant Jowel - not Jewel…
    • I have noticed this year that those plants of mine that 'berry' have berry-ed up excessively this year, particularly the mahonia. Old wives tales suggest this would suggest a harsh winter is in the offing - it will be interesting to see if this saying bears fruit (see what I've done there?).
