Chrono-Trigger, coming to DS, no shit:

Nice for the poor souls who didn't get to play it on silicon last time around.

With a large budget splurged on this "cursed" rpg title, an international release looks pretty certain:

Metal Slug 7 on DS is sheer genius! Anybody else braving it on Hard?

This looks interesting, won't fit the mario kart wheel though..

Shame about the localised voice "acting", but meh, at least the game will hopefully get the audience it deserves!

I hope it has more longevity than the (overhyped imho) first one. Personally, I'd much rather get my game on with Llamatron on the Amiga than Geometry wars any day, on the other hand its good to see more back to basics gaming being developed and pushed, then again its not really a concept that could / should launch yet another gaming "franchise" imho and would have liked to see the team have done something different instead.
Does anyone know of a foolproof playstation emulator I can download, the ones I've looked at so far have been hard work to download and install requiring several different download sources. Also, and this may well have been covered at length already...is GTA4 simply too dark in places to see what the hell your doing, or is it just me?

anyone played this yet

lovely game. Taking elements of other games, visuals of yoshis island, that one with the reversing time trick and flashback/oddworld etc, and created a beautiful thing that may not be quite ICO territory, but definitely close to that gaming as art area.

Yep - it's just beautiful. From the moment you realise the game has started (with you in silhouette) to the ideas presented in what appears to be a straightforward platform 2D effort.

This and geometry wars 2 from a week or so back have kept me busy on the console front - classic stuff

N+ for DS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNVEsWeA5s8

Oh and also, Bakuretsu muteki Bangaioh, a cult hit on the N64 (sold mine for a fortune, heh) and the pirated to death Dreamcast, had a kind of remix sort of thing out on the DS earlier this year, funnily enough it seems its out in English now.

Old skool enough?

Was having a discussion with someone from a company that designs and manufactures chips for Nintendo, and we both came to the same conclusion - the DS is just toooo good! Just what can Nin do to top it????

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
