Piers I'm relying on you to tell me when a game worth buying comes out on the Wii, as I don't really keep up with such things... I actually need to finish Metroid Prime and then to Metroid Prime 2 for the Gamecube which has been sat unplayed for ages whilst I've been doing other stuff, then I can play the new Metroid for Wii. I also need to get my Wii online, as you can get the old school Super Metroid and Mario 3!
Dunno if this has been discussed much of late (did a search but nowt came up), but does anyone have any clue when the Wii shortage might be coming to an end? I should have bought one back in October when I had the chance, but my flatmate got a PS3 about the same time so I decided to hold off until just after Xmas. Big mistake!

The only reason I haven't picked up a Wii yet is because I have neither the space or time but I have been tempted several times and always check out stock levels when I'm around those kinds of shops

Pretty sure the main HMV on Oxford St had some last week

As for the PS3 - I've had 1 and 2 and was looking forward to 3 - but NOTHING has come out for it yet. At all....

okay - cheers - I keep checking Play, Amazon, etc., regularly, but I guess I'll have to pound the old pavement.

The PS3 is alright actually - there are a few decent titles - and for me it beats the 360, though the Microsoft machine has been out for longer and has a bigger back catalogue. I think you can do more with a PS3. Mind, a Wii is what I's after the noo.

Well seeing as Santa's little helper reads the forum I've now got an xbox 360. Quite impressed with it. Took me a while to get use to the controller (I'm a PC gamer), but definitely getting the hang of it.

The capabilities of both platforms from a user stand point seem pretty similar. Once I get the latest update on the xbox it should be quite a decent media center. They'll now play DivX.

    • Surprise, surprise. It didn't take them long, did it. This will be something of a test as to how much the council really care about parks and the environment. A footfall of 60,000. Are they mad? There is no way this park is designed for or can sustain that sort of use. Just had a look at the schedule. If allowed to go ahead, this will involve a large slice of the park (not the common) sectioned off and out of use for three weeks of May and the first week of June. Here's an idea, why not trial the festival in one of the other Southwark Parks, so the 'goodness' can be shared around the borough?
    • There was another unprovoked attack on Monday this week on a young woman nearby (Anstey Road) at 6.45pm. Don't have any other details, it was posted on a Facebook group by her flatmate. Pretty worrying  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGfDrCAST/
    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.
