I think there's more than one at Goose Green. One meets at St John's church/community centre on Tues 6.30-8pm. It's an Elfin group (ages 6-9) but there's also a Pioneers (10-13) group there. If you look on their website you'll find a local contact. There's often a waiting list - be warned.

Does anyone know any more about this, please?

i used to go to woodcraft folk when i was young it used to be in dulwich hamlet junior school but I think it then moved to the church on red post hill, the lady who ran it was called linda and she lives on court lane can't remember which number but she has the woodcraft folk emblem on her from=nt door. Also there is a group in east dulwich community centre i think.

I did try that the last time this was discussed, but never got a reply. Will try again!

Thanks

There's some Woodcraft Folk Groups in Brockley, Deptford and Blackheath if that's any good to anyone.

The Brockley group meets on Mondays, not sure about the others.

Their website is here (for all of the above), with a contact form

http://groupspaces.com/SouthEastLondonDistrictWoodcra

The website isn't updated so much, but that's because the groups are too busy doing stuff! Expect waiting lists...

However, the contact form will get a response.

For other areas, phone numbers are here:

http://woodcraft.org.uk/press

I'd suggest ringing, it's much easier when people actually talk!

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
